Inside of the bakery was very warm and inviting, it felt like a grandmother's kitchen. It was small inside. A few small round tables placed with two chairs at each of them. The walls were a very light pink with white wood on the bottom half of the walls. It didn't feel girly at all, actually. It felt like a familiar and warm place that was filled with love.
A few pictures and shelves hung on the wall with things on them. There was the cash register next to those pastry fridge shelves. They were filled with baked goods. This places smelled amazing and also looked so homey.
This would be a perfect place to read, and eat of course. Baked goods are defiantly a weakness of mine.
I was glad no one was here it sure didn't seem busy so a very low chance of getting recognized. I asked my body guards to stay by the door as I went to the cash register. I looked up and seen a couple of chalk boards with the menu written on them in beautiful writing with doodles and drawings.
A small older woman came out from the back and smiled at me. She had her grey hair up in a bun and a long light purple shirt with black pants on and a apron covering her. "Hello, welcome to Lilac Barkey."
I gave the older woman a smile before ordering. She gave me a plate with my baked good on it.
I reached for my money but her words stopped me. "That's quite alright, Mr President."
I insisted and left money on the counter with a tip. I sat down and ate the piece of cake I had ordered, this was some good. I was sure going to return here again.
I went back up to the front and was going to order something to go. The sweet old lady came out again and got me what I wanted. I thanked her and my body guards and I returned to the car where we were driven back to my house.
The cake would defiantly ruin my apatite but it was worth it. I haven't had a cake that good in a long long time. I made a note to stop in their for cinnamon buns for my breakfast, I would just workout a bit longer.
After going over my things for tomorrow I headed down to the gym I had in the basement. Stripping down and putting a pair of shorts on and sneakers, I turned on some music and got on the treadmill. I ran for awhile before moving on to weights, then ab workouts.
When I was finished my workout it had been an hour and a half later then before.
I stripped out of my sweaty clothes and got in the shower. The hot water felt good against my muscles. I ran my hand through my wet hair. The shower was one of my thinking places, no one could interrupt me in here, not my son, my staff, or my wife.
You may be asking if I can't leave her, why not have an affair? Well I've actually never thought about cheating on Erin until, well, just now. Now she's not the only woman I have slept with. She may have been my high school sweetheart, but she wasn't my first or my only partner in bed. There was many girls during our breakups, before we got together, and no there's just her.
But again, I have never thought of cheating on her. I'm the president now. The media would hate me, my son would hate me, the whole world would hate me. I wanted something more then an affair, I wanted someone I could love. Not stupid childish love that turned into a marriage, but real love.
I sighed and turned off the shower. I knew there was nothing I could do. There was nothing I could say or do to make Erin different, I've tried. She got greedy with fame, and she changed.
I changed, and checked my phone before getting into bed and falling asleep.
*****
It was early when I walked through the doors of Lilac Bakery. Again, like before, it smelled so incredibly good. I knew what I wanted and knew I would get extra. I couldn't believe how early and late this bakery stayed opened, this was now my favourite place.
