The Galaxy Garrison. Purposed for a flight and aircraft training, as well as a general Highschool. You had arrived at the Garrison when all the other cadets did around four months ago. When you were younger, your dream was to come to the Garrison in hopes of working your way up to an elite fighter class pilot when the time came. Though as your time as your life progressed, your dream slowly started to seep through the cracks of doubt. You were emotionless, so to say. You barely ever held any sort of positive emotion toward most anything, well, from time to time you would crack a smirk from proving someone wrong or scowl at another cadet from doing something wrong in a simulation. Other cadets would call you by the name of 'The Negative' because you always had a negative take on things, sometimes, and in your opinion, you had a reason to...

You were an only child and it had always been that way...until that fateful day... You had never met your real father so you had grown up with your mother till around the age of nine. It was mid-summer. You were downstairs in your home playing some random video game your mother had found in the family room when a sharp knock on the door rang out. You paused the game and jumped off the sofa shouting "I'll get it, I'll get it!" while your mother worked on dinner in the kitchen. You scampered as fast as you could towards the tall mahogany-colored door and swung it open to reveal two quite taller people. The first one was around your mother's size with chestnut hair, hazel eyes and a big smile wearing a plain white tee and jeans. The other, not but a foot taller than you, had ginger hair to her waist and chocolate brown eyes with small freckles scattered across her pale features, adorning a yellow sundress. As you stood wide-eyed in the doorway staring at the two utter strangers, your mother had noticed the door being wide open and came to your side.

"Mommy, there's two weird strangers at the door." you pointed out to her when she put her arm on your shoulder. Your statement sent a quiet giggle to the ginger-haired girl and a chuckle to the man.

"Sweetheart, this is James a good friend of mine, and his daughter Lilly," she said smiling softly at the two. "Go on and say Hi." Now having approval from your mother that neither of them posed any threat, you grinned and waved at the two energetically. The girl gave a soft wave back and grinned at you. Your mother ushered the guests inside and shut the door behind you. As the adults went into the kitchen to talk, you turned to Lilly.

She introduced her self and asked if you wanted to play some video games, as she explained that she had seen you were in the middle of one earlier. You nodded, thankful that someone around your age finally wanted to join you in the activity, and rushed off to the family room with the chuckling girl in tow. The two of you bonded over the time you had about video games, school stuff, and anything else you could conjure up. After your mom had called you to tell you that they needed to leave, you turned with a nod to Lilly and gave her one of the biggest hugs you could muster up. After the pair actually did leave, all you did was talk non-stop about Lilly and how much you both shared similar interests. Your mother smiled at this and told you this wouldn't be the only time, sending you to la-la land immediately.

As promised, this happened a numerous amount of times. They would come over, you would play around with Lilly and do other things till they had to leave, and you would enjoy it immensely. Some days you would go over to their house and do the same or go out to dinner or ice cream or some other activity. that everyone agreed on. You had learned over time that James was a fighter pilot for the Garrison, the school you had ranted to your mom about for years. From that day on you had decided to try your hardest to follow after him, to make him proud. You had loved both of them through thick and thin.
