'Journal entry #1'
Writer's name : Evan Connor

Dear.... journal?,

My name is Evan Connor, and this is my first journal entry..... ever. I am a 18 year old male and I live alone in a small apartment. I go to college along with my best friend, Kenneth McCall. I have blonde hair and my eyes are two different shades of blue, I don't know why. I live in a very peculiar place. Why? Well, Kenneth and I have strange abilities. Something you would see in your favorite superhero comic. I believe we were descendants from gods. Well we use said abilities to do good. To fight crime. To make this dystopia into a better place. That's-'

"Yo, Ev, what are you writing?" My best friend's, Kenneth's, voice snaps me back into reality. The reality where I'm sitting in a dim lit house and Kenneth is reading my journal over my shoulder. In a brief second of panic, I stand up, pick up the journal, and slam it into my chest.

"Nothing!" He stares at me, definitely not believing that it was "Nothing". So, he smirks, getting ready to try and get under my skin.

"It doesn't look like nothing. Is it a diary?"

"NO, diaries are for girls, I'm NOT a girl."

"If it's not a diary, then what is it?" I stood there, embarrassed.

"I said it was nothing." He frowns, clearly getting impatient, so he starts reaching for it.

"Come on, let me-"

"SHUT UP!" a female voice shouted. I snap my head towards a girl with deep red hair and her eyes bore through mine. She continues "I'm trying to help John with his homework, but two ASSHOLES won't shut up for us to concentrate." My eyes flicker passed her and to a petite boy in a black hoodie

Kenny looks at her, a frown on his round face. "Shit, I'm sorry Ruby. We'll try to be more quiet." His voice was in a wisper, as to emphasize that he wasn't lieing. With that, the redhead shook her head, muttered a "whatever" and sat back down. I stare at her for a moment, as though she had grown a second head. She was never this nice, she had a firey personality and always liked to be a total bitch. Maybe that's why Kenny likes her so much.

As if on queue, an arm grabbed mine and dragged me into the training room. The arm leaves me to stand and the person attached walks in front of me. "So?" Kenny asked, knowing damn well that I knew what he was talking about. And I did. Though, all I did was roll my eyes.

"Dude, I've tried to talk to her. She's just not interested in you. I can't control her feelings. Either talk to her yourself or get over her." He looked away for a moment, as deep frown carved on his face. He sighed and his amber eyes stared at me with a twinge of sadness.

"I've tried to talk to her," His voice was a whisper at first, but picked up through out his sentence."I've tried everything. I didn't even brush my, so I could look more roughed."

"Kenny. If she likes a twink like me, why would she like roughedness?"

"Oh..."

"Fix your hair and go talk to Ruby. This time, try being honest with your feelings." He only nodded his head in return as I walked out of the training room. I entered the main room, well, it's really a living room since our super hero base is just my dead grandmother's old house.

I looked around and my eyes landed on the petite boy from earlier sitting in the same spot, Johnathan. I didn't see Ruby sitting with him, so I assumed that he finished his homework. I went to sit beside him, to strike up a conversation. He looked up at me, his yellow eyes and sharp black pupil reminded me of a cat. But, that was just one of his deformities. One along with the sharp canine teeth and dog like ears were human ones should be. I looked down beside him, at the MCR bookbag he got for his 12th birthday last week. The poor kid lived with his older brother, Kevin, who was also a hero, but sadly not here.

"Hello John, are you doing okay?" Sometimes you need people to ask if everything's ok, even though alot of the times its not.

He nodded his head in response. "I'm fine, just wish MCR would get back together." The kid was a big fan of MCR and a even bigger emo. He told me that he would listen to their songs whenever he was having a shitty day and it always made him feel better. Everyone has different coping mechanism. I chuckled at his response.

"I'm sure they will soon."

"Yeah, whatever." I was about to respond when the alarm went off. "A villain." I thought as Ruby ran over to the touch screen TV. This was the best part of being a hero, saving the city. She hummed and shut off the blaring alarm.

"It's nothing," She said. "Just a simple robbery." Kenny entered the room, hearing the alarm.

"Well," He responded. "Let's go catch some bad guys." We all started to head towards the door when Ruby stopped me.

"Where do you think you're going?" She asked. I blinked, confused.

"To do my job?" She shook her head.

"No, you're not. You are still healing from Ace's last attack." My mind went to the other day, my body bloody and bruised. I shivered.

"But-"

"She's right Evan," Kenny's voice interrupted. "It's just a robbery, we'll be fine."

I sighed. "Whatever." I turned around and went to sit down as they left. This was going to be boring.

*******

It had been an hour since they left, and I started to get worried. It wouldn't take an hour to stop a simple robbery. Something was wrong. I waited a minute before I couldn't take it anymore. I had to see if they were okay. I leapt from my chair and towards the door. I hesitated, then sighed, looking into the empty house. They couldn't even stop a simple robbery. I sighed again and left. I muttered under my breath.

"This league sucks."
