It was a quiet night... Well, as quiet as it could be in the city of Los Santos. The constant construction and traffic never let the city fall completely silent. Even at two o'clock in the morning the streets were still crowded with people going to and from parties, clubs, night shifts, or in some cases, crimes. Vanoss along with his friends were usually out at this time of night. Not partying but keeping the streets safe. Don't get it wrong though, they weren't good guys, more like chaotic nutural. They weren't bad guys but they still did what they wanted. If they wanted money they took it, if they wanted to save someone they did. This left the public having conflicting opinions about them. They liked keeping their city somewhat safe though, so they watched the streets at night to make sure it didn't get to bad out there.
Vanoss sat on top of his building and watched the lights as he took a drink of his soda. A cool breeze that blew through the feather of his owl mask in the dark. Honestly, he would rather be having a beer at some club on this lovely Friday night than patrolling, but it was his turn to keep look out tonight. He wasn't alone though, his team members Lui, Nogla, and Terroriser were our patrolling different parts of the city too. The group took turns and their turn just happened to be tonight. Vanoss didn't mind that much though, it was relaxing for now.
"Hey, guys," Noglas voice came through on his ear piece. "We've gotta situation on left avenue."
"What kind of situation?" Terroriser asked.
"Two guys were killed in an alley outside a club. Brutal too, lots of blood," Nogla said casually. They were all used to see some gruesome stuff but they still didn't like it happening to innocent people.
"Alright, I'm on my way. Everyone meet up at Noglas location," Vanoss said as he stood up. He took out his grappling gum and jumped off the building. As he fell towards the ground and timed himself as he locked onto the building next to his. He shot his grapple and hooked onto the ledge, causing himself to swing around the building and onto the roof next to it. He kept the momentum and ran from roof to roof to get the destination quickly.
When he got there he his friends standing over two dead bodies in a alley. As he landed they turned to look at him, all wearing a different mask. Lui had a monkey mask that had a fake cigar hanging from his lip, Terroriser had a mask that covered only part of his face and made him look like a cyborg, and nogla had a paper bag over his head with a stupid face he drew on it. Vanoss walked up to them and looked down at the gruesome scene. The two males had been beaten to death with a blunt object and even more afterwards. He kneeled down and checked the pockets kf the two men, finding they had their wallets, keys, and phones on them.
"So it wasn't a mugger," Lui said as Vanoss stood back up.
"Look around, this wasn't done to long ago. The killer maybe still be close," Vanoss said. The others nodded and split up, going to check the surrounding area for anything that looked suspicious. Vanoss checked deeper into the alley for clues. He knew the alley ended in a dead end but the killer might have left something behind.
He pulled out his flashlight and looked around. The alleyway was dark and damp, stinking of trash. The light of his flashlight reflected in the eyes of some raccoons down the alley a ways. Suddenly, the sound of something metal hitting the concrete echoed through the quiet alley and a metal baseball bat rolled out from behind a dumpster. Vanoss shined his light on it and saw that it was covered in blood. He slowly got closer to where the bat had come from, preparing himself for a fight if he needed to. As he got closer he saw a man crouched behind the dumpster, facing away from him.
"Hey, you in the blue hoodie. Stand up and turn around slowly." Vanoss pulled a pistol out of his belt and pointed it at the man as he slowly stood up. As he turned around vanoss saw that he was wearing a hockey mask and was covered in blood. "Well, you don't look suspicious at all," Vanoss said, smirking under his owl mask.
"I-I didn't do it!" He said, putting his hands up. He was shaking and his eyes held a lot of fear for a man that just committed two murders.
"Yeah, and and my name is Sheryl," Vanoss said, rolling his eyes.
"Wait, really?" The man asked.
"wha- no! I was kidding," Vanoss said with a sigh, shaking his head. "You murdered those two men down the alley, you're coming with me."
"Please, I-I d-don't remember killing them," The man said, still shaking with fear. "I don't remember..." Vanoss paused as he realized the man wasn't lying. The look in his eyes and the tone of his voice held no deception. Vanoss thought for a moment, something about the strange man interested him.
"OK, I won't turn you in. But you are coming with me." The man hesitated but nodded his head and seemed to relax a little. Vanoss walked over and handcuffed the man quickly. "Just in case." The man didn't say anything but nodded again. He quickly informed the rest of his men that he found the killer and what he was doing before he headed back to his base.

"Are ye sure it was a good idea bringin' him here instead of turning him in?" Nogla asked, glancing at the man on the couch that was now identified as Jonathan. The four men were in an office building that vanoss had bought to use as a base. It looked mostly like a normal office building which was a good cover for them.
"Yeah, even if he is telling the truth and doesn't remember killing 'em he's covered in blood and the police might trace this back to us," Brian added.
"Don't worry, I told Lui to clean up back there so we won't have to worry about the cops. And he is telling the truth, I can tell,"
"I still don't understand," Brian said, turning to Jonathan, "How does someone kill two people and not remember any of it?"
Jonathan shifted nervously in his seat as he felt all three pairs of eyes on him. "I-I black out like that sometimes. I-It usually happens when I feel sudden and strong emotions," He explained, "And I never remember any of it."
The group all glanced at each other for a moment, all thinking about what he said. Vanoss was the first to speak up.
"OK, we believe you. But now the question is what to do with you."
"Have ye gone to a doctor or anything about the black outs?" Brian asked. Jonathan shook his head no and looked away a little.
"No... Can't afford it."
"Do you have someone to take care of you? Family or something?" Vanoss asked, frowning. Jonathan shook his head again. After a moment of thinking Vanoss smiled down at the man. "Well, I guess you're staying with me then."
All three of the men looked at him in surprise.
"Vanoss, are ye sure about this? A stranger livin' with ya?" Nogla asked.
"Don't worry, it'll be fine." Vanoss smiled at the two while Jonathan sat in shock. The masked vigilante of Los Santos just offered to let him live with him.
The men argued for a minute about if this was a good idea or not while Jonathan stayed silent. After awhile they finally gave up and Vanoss gestured for Jonathan to follow him. They got into the elevator while the other two men stayed to discuss the events of the night. There was some awkward silence between the two as they went to the ground floor. Jonathan couldn't take the silence any more and decided to finally speak up.
"I'm, Vanoss?" He said, getting a hum know reply, "Thank you." Vanoss looked over at him and took his mask off, smiling.
"No problem."
