AN:// Deepest apologies to everyone. I'm sorry you waited a year for one chapter. It's quite short and rushed a bit. I am grateful to all of you that have been waiting for me.

Fillipa's POV

I sat on the hood of Amara's car, and my bag beside me and a strawberry flavoured popsicle in my mouth. I try not to move my left arm. The cast is heavy and very itchy, I stare in disgust at the bulky thing on my arm. It hurts just to move my fingers.

I place the popsicle on my forehead, trying to reduce the pain and decrease the size of the bruise. Luck was definitely not on my side.

Last Night

"What the hell Siobhan?!"

I turn my attention from Amara to see Brent and Donny's supposed girlfriend Siobhan tangled up on one of the beach blankets. Donny's face is red and his fists clenched. I quickly excused myself before walking up to the trio.

"What's going on?" I ask trying to ease the tension.

All eyes turn on me and none are welcoming.

"No one called you here," Donny comments disdainfully .

"Yeah, well I feel like I need to be here before you two start something that will end badly," I retort.

"Yeah, so tell your boyfriend to get off my girlfrie- ex girlfriend," he quickly corrects himself.

A small gasp is heard from Siobhan as her eyes start to water. I snort at this, because honestly what did she expect. She just cheated on her boyfriend publicly.

"That bitch's not my girlfriend ," he snaps.

"Hey, watch yourself. You are absolutely in no position to be insulting me. Three hours after we break up, you already have a girl on your arm, and she wasn't even single." I fight back.

Brent practically shoves Siobhan off him before standing up. He towers over me by exactly five inches, making me regret shouting at him, but I refuse to let my fear show.

"What are you going to do Brent? You can't control me anymore because we're not together anymore. You know what, I was really falling for you but I really don't know what I saw in you. Say something, I want you to shock me and say something intelligent. To be honest in my opinion it's better to let someone think you're a complete idiot than opening your mouth and proving them right."

That really seemed to send him off the deep end because the next thing I knew I was falling onto the metal ice cooler. I felt a sharp pain shooting through my head and arm. I bit my lower lip, trying not to cry.

I could hear people calling my name and gasps. I heard the sound of punches and grunts and sentences like "...you piece of sh..." and "Let go of me so I can finish this worthless piece of crap." Everything was black and I was in too much pain to take in my surroundings.

I picked up my board started walking back to the small café. As I was walking back, I noticed people whispering and sending glances my way. At first I thought it was because of the hideous bruise on my forehead or the ugly cast that encased my broken arm. But apparently that wasn't it. I could hear things like,

I heard they hooked up while she was still with Brent and he was still with Siobhan

or

He's only after her money. What a gold digger!

Some people just didn't have lives. As soon as I walked into the café, everyone went silent. I walked towards the kitchen but lucky for me it was only 10 meters away from the front door. As soon as I entered it, I saw Donny under the sink in a Molo's Café t-shirt and an apron furiously texting on his phone.

"I thought you had community and service," I say as I bend down to his height.

Apparently after I blacked out, Donny and Brent had this massive fight. It ended with Donny giving Brent a broken nose and 3 broken fingers. After that they had to spend the night in the Sheriff's office.

Donny was let off with just community and service of his choice, whereas as Brent was due for a court hearing in three weeks which meant he was under house arrest. So thank god for that.

"I was really hoping that when they were putting that cast on, they would somehow miraculously puncture your brachial artery and you would bleed out," he says without even looking up from his phone.

I roll my eyes at his hostility and take a seat next to him under the sink.

"What do you think you're doing," he asks with disgust as he examines our close proximity.

"I'm sitting down. Last time I checked we lived in a first world country without an oppressive, tyrannical or communist government. So I think I'm going to sit down next to you," I end with a smile.

I sigh and crawl out from under the sink and dust myself off when he doesn't reply.

"If I were you I would actually get back to working. I bet you're on a short leash," I recommend.

He stares at his phone long and hard before climbing out. As soon as he climbs out the door to the kitchen is opened. Then the next event happens so fast it takes me completely by surprise.

Donny lifts me up by my waist and places me on the ledge of the sink and smashes his lips against mine. My casted arm hangs lazily on his shoulder as the other one grips the back of his hair and gently tugs on it.

The kiss is sloppy and wet but feverish at the same time. I feel his hand slowly creeping up my shirt towards my bra strap. I pull him closer to me, I lick the bottom of his lip begging for entrance and he willingly obliges.

He tastes of strawberry and a bit of lemon. As soon as the door closes we quickly break apart.

Plastered on Donny's face is the most creepiest grin ever.

"I knew you had a thing for me," he says smugly.

I roll my eyes at him and quickly unmount myself from the sink. I look back at Donnny and see him looking deep into thought. His expression is indecisive as if he's about to make the biggest decision in his life.

"I have a proposition for you," he says mischievously.

"And what is this proposition that you have for me," I answer slightly amused.

"Be my girlfriend?" He asks confidently.

"And why would I do that?" I counter.

"Because this could be your chance to get back at that asshole of your ex-boyfriend and I get to show Siobhan that I can move on from her," he explains.

I think about it for a minute before reluctantly agreeing. It would give me a chance to get to the know the mystery that is Donny whateverhislastnameis. To be honest I just wanted to know who this boy in front of me was.

"And besides, I doubt kissing will be a problem," he winks.

I give him a light punch in the shoulder and walk out of the kitchen. Just then Siobhan walks in fuming. She looks at me with the look of an angry ex-girlfriend and points a long slender finger at me,

"You!"
