The Long Road

I awoke in hot sweats , the air was humid and hot it smelled musty and gross.
I lay there and look up and the ceiling is blow i and moldy with plants coming through.
I sat up in a brisk pace and look around there's windows broken with plants coming through.

I didn't know why the world looked like this i was so confused i got in a car crash and this is what happened.
A doctor with a very slim face but bright blue eyes looked at me but very excited.

He says to me "I'm Doctor Kisch , And .. Um I'm .. Sorry , You've been in a coma for 23 years , I'm surprised by no brain damage for this long It's amazing."

"What has happened?" I said back to him.
He looks to me very weary and uncertain what to say. So i say to him "What the Fuck Happened, I'm not asking again."

He starts speaking "There was a virus brought over from Europe that destroyed america within months these things mutated and people turned against people , but this is the sanctuary a sacred and safe area protected against infected we are that matters when the world is meant to be like this.."

I got up and there was a change of clothes , a black faded t-shirt and a green coat darker and faded too with brown boots and a gun and a knife and a tan traveling backpack.
  Dr Kisch sent me to a small house. as i walked down the dirt path to multiple different houses and people and animals flourishing everyone looked happy but i didn't know what was beyond the walls like everyone else did.

    I did hear gunshots and screams every once in awhile.

  The Sanctuary started daily training with me and teaching me to fight and treat a wound everything to get me ready.

  They paired 4 people up and send trips for supplies my team was Erica , Lydia ,Hugh , Liam.

  I'm Lydia , Erica is the leader she has dark sin and nice curly hair she always has up she knows what to do and how to do it. she's very smart.

I walked down the dirt path to the main house which looked like the white house with a big gate covering everything and lots of green grass growing the air was muggy like before a rainstorm as the sky was turning to a dark grey and started raining.

Dr. Kisch said rains last for a whole week at most.

I walked back to my room and people were running past my room and I walked into my room and locked and went to sleep.
I woke up to a burning smell outside , I could barely breathe and i grabbed my bag and held my knife and walked out the door. I heard lots of gunfire and smoke was covering the hallway as it was littered with smoke.

i ran thorough it until i came to a door.
I pressed and banged on it long and hard and i bruised my knuckles punching it.

The door bursted open and I was in a gunfight next to two survivors it was Erica and Lydia and Lydia was badly beaten she had a bruised eye and her pupils were red and she was held up on the wall and she was spitting out blood she held out her hand and i grabbed it and leaned in she said to in a muffled voice "PLEASE .... please ... take care of Erica i'm dying and I ..".

Her breaths shortened and faded out as her eyes rolled in the back of her head her body lay lifeless on the dirt ground.

I hear gunshots and Erica grabs my shoulders she says "LISTEN TO ME WERE GOING TO THE SUPPLY TRUCK AND GETTING THE FUCK OUT OF HERE .... It's not safe raiders have invaded and taken over the compound infected will be here soon.

We ran for the truck and got in and there was tons of supplies in the back and lots of gas cans and guns she sped off and ran through loads of people as i heard there bones crack and and disembodied screams i was scared for my life and i held on.
