Fear.

Fear is what I could feel as soon as I heard Namjoon say his name. It wasn't that his name was unusual or that his voice somehow sent chills down my spine but it was the was Namjoon prounounced each syllable of his name.

Taehyung.

I did not know if it was right to make assumptions this quick but as far as I could say by hearing the noisy corridor turn suddenly quiet by his arrival, Namjoon's usual happy and kind tone change into a threatening one and Jimin suddenly being very quiet unlike his normal talkative one, Taehyung- whoever he was- was dangerous.

"Why hyung? Afraid to lose to your little brother?" Taehyung mocked, his voice fuelled with sarcasm so intense, I mentally frowned.

"Taehyung. Don't." Namjoon warned, his voice growing serious by every passing second.

I stepped back in fear.

It was a wrong move.

"Who's this?" Taehyung asked as I could feel Taehyung staring at me.

"Another one of your star students? Or another pet of yours like this guy." he chuckled menacingly at the last few words.

"I'm not his pet." Jimin protested, his voice shaking with the same unknown fear I felt.

Sweat trickled down my forehead as I breathed roughly, my heart beating with a rhythm that I had never felt, a feeling in the deepest corner of my heart I had never experienced.

Fear.

"What did you say, little guy?" Taehyung sounded angry now. Very.

"I said I'm not his pet." Jimin announced, suddenly mustering up enough courage to answer him back.

I was secretly jealous of Jimin. He at least had the courage to speak up. Had it been me, I would've never had the nerves to do so.

Especially in front of someone as surprisingly threatening as him.

"Right. Why not? After all the times I've seen you following your lovely, perfect president around-"

"-Taehyung. Enough." Namjoon interrupted him from saying words that could insult Jimin any further.

"Yes, of course!" Taehyung suddenly boomed with annoyance clear in his voice. "The Kim Namjoon! Always. It's always you who has to come in between people and act like you're the saviour and I'm the bad guy. Every single time. Just like you did when mom sent me awa-"

And the next thing I heard was the clear, unmistakable sound of skin hitting skin.

Shocked voices and gasps filled the room and I instantly knew what had happened.

"You just crossed the line Kim Taehyung." Namjoon breathed out, his voice with a new tone other than hate. Pain.

Namjoon slapped Taehyung. I was right.

"Did you just hit me?" Taehyung asked, shock and anger clear in his voice.

Why is this drama happening on my first day?

"Yes. I did. And I will do so again if you say anything else that is way beyond your limits." Namjoon said and I instantly knew he meant each and every word he said.

There was no sense of forgiveness. Not a single drop.

"Fine." Taehyung sighed, frustrated. Then he laughed. It wasn't the laugh that uplifted your mood and the one you'd wish to listen to over and over again. It was not the sound that told you that everything was alright. It was that sarcastic laugh that meant the opposite of everything good. The laugh of satan.
