On the 23rd of December (which was the 240th anniversary of the Laurens-Lee Duel), I went ice skating in the Tower of London Ice Skating Ring. It's really weird to think that over 200 years ago, Henry Laurens was imprisoned right next to where I was skating.
Henry Laurens was imprisoned in the Tower of London for 15 months, and was the only American to ever be imprisoned there.
This portrait of him was painted by Lemuel Francis Abbott whilst Henry Laurens was imprisoned in the Tower:

We stayed in a hotel nearby, which had an incredible view of Tower Bridge.
These photos are all my own (my phone's camera isn't great in the dark, as you can tell).
Skating by the Tower was probably my favourite thing that I did in London, and I would highly recommend it!
