The sun was setting but deep down wishing if only he could stay a little longer to witness the sight the whole of Mewar kingdom was wishing to see.The day was a long and tiresome with everyone's heart on the verge of losing their pride, the day on which Maharana Udaysingh had won the battle against Afghan cheif Sher Shah Suri. The Afghan cheif had captured the palace of Chittor a few years back, the army of Maharana had not recovered from a previous war fought by the Maharana's ancestors and was not in a position to win against the army of the Afghans with about 50,000 strong whereas the Maharana had about 10,000 men in all .Even if he called for help from the neighbouring Rajput kingdom, the enemy standing at their door would finish the entire Suryavanshi clan before they reached, whose ancestors were Lord Ram himself, the King of Ayodhya.
Rana Udaysingh after a long decision with his ministers who wanted to go ahead and do Sakha(a Rajput policy in which all the men wear orange coloured clothes and either win or never come back alive),the Rana convinced them that" today was not their day",they would attack and win back what is rightously theirs with a stronger army.
The sweet voice of a baby given birth by Maharani Jaiwanta bai filled the ears of the Rana to bring him back to reality,
where he was standing in front of the biggest room in the Rani Mahal, that was of Maharani Jaiwantabai. The Rana's dharmapatni and the wisest woman of that clan.
After the birth of the three elder princes. The Rana was awaiting the birth of a princess who would fill the palace with her presence and complete the Rana's heart with her smile.
The eldest prince Kunwar Pratap Singh, son of Maharani Jaiwantabai,Kunwar Shakti Singh and Kunwar Sagar Singh ,son of Rani Sajjabai Solanki and Kunwar Jagmal Singh son of Rani Dheer Bai Bhattiyani.
Kunwar Pratap Singh and Kunwar Shakti were almost of the same age, Kunwar Pratap was two months elder.Kunwar Sagar was two years younger .Kunwar Jagmal Singh the youngest prince who was basically an infant.
The Rana entered the room to see Rani Jaiwantabai with a pleasant smile, though he was completely soaked in blood with injuries all over his body and completely worn out,the voice he just heard brought him back to life with only happiness and content in his heart. It was 'A Princess' whom the whole of Mewar was waiting. As the queen placed the child into the Rana's arms the only reaction was a wide glare at the charming princess.
Big coal black eyes, curly hair, nut colured skin and two little bunny teeth on the front which made her look like a cute living doll rather than a baby girl, her features resembled her father's but she had an enchanting smile. The Rana was completely lost until he heard the Namaste from his four year old son Pratap. The boy with curious eyes scanned the wrapping cloth to see his newborn sister.
The Rana and Pratap said in unison MEER VEERA,the name which they had decided long before the birth of the princess.
With the blessings of Lord Ekalinganatheshwar ,a warrior was born and the celebration started with double the joy and happiness but something deep down the Maharani's heart was eating her peace and reason to celebrate..........Hey,did u like it??
