Me and Keith walked back out and everyone was still arguing about who's parents cookies are better. I decided that I'd take Keith to the kitchen, away from them.

"What are we going to do now?" He asked. I realized I didn't have a back up plan. I started to open cabinets and found the things to make cake.

"We are going to make cake!" I suggested. He just looked at me like he thought I was insane. "Come on! Don't make that face Keith, it's not like I'm leaving you to do this by yourself." I said.

He then started laughing. My heart started racing faster than it already was. I started blushing like a mad man so I had to face the other way, so Keith wouldn't see me.

"I'm grateful I have an awesome partner to help me." He said, smiling. His damn smile hit me right in the heart.

"Let's get it started up then!" I said, still clearly blushing.

"Alright Keith, can you get the measuring cup and white sugar?" He nodded.

I got the bowl and the whisk. Keith handed me the ingredients and our hands brushed. Of course he didn't think much of it oh I sure made a big deal out of it.

Then I measured 2 cups and ordered Keith to hand me things like all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa power, baking soda, and all the goods.

When it was all done and good in the hood, Keith put it in oven for 35 minutes.

While we waited, we had a chat to keep their arguing out of Keith's ears.

"So, you said you worked at an orphanage, right?" He nodded his head. "I volunteer there because I grew close to four kids." He told me.

"Really? Tell me more about them." I gave him this kind of smirk look. "Unless you tell me about your sister Violet."

I agreed. I was over her disappearance already.

Here's a Hamilton reference for all you fans out there ;) Here Eliza, Angelica, and Peggy are sisters of course, and they always protected Alexander from being bullied so they became friends with him.

"Well, first there's Alexander. He's a hot headed little guy but he has a passion. I've known him since I was there, so we kind of bonded, you know. Then there's Elizabeth but we call her Eliza. She has an older and younger sister. She's a kind caring girl. When you get her mad, she is a master at the art of forgiveness, and that's what makes her unique. Angelica, the oldest out of the sister gang knows how to teach you a lesson. She's caring as well, but will get her hands dirty if something happens to her close folks is remarkable. She has a trait that helps others but not herself, she puts others happiness over hers. Especially her sisters feelings. Then there Peggy who's the youngest. She's funny and kind. She always lightens the mood when it's needed. Those kids....are the real reason why I go back to that orphanage everyday." He explained, which was long and detailed.

"They sound like a good bunch, how old are they?" I asked. "Alexander's 10 and so is Eliza. Angelica is 12 and Peggy is 8." He replied.

"Thanks for sharing Keith, means a lot. Now back to me!" I boasted. He rolled his eyes but then gave out a small laugh which made my heart set on fire.

I took a deep breath in and out, trying to calm down, and once I did, I carried on.

"My sister Violet's car was getting shot while she was heading to our house for family dinner. She decided to flee with her son into the woods, never to be seen or heard from again. It broke our family's heart that she didn't call for help or reach out to us after all these years, because we still believe she's alive." I explained, kind of tired of telling the story.

Keith nodded. He stood up and opened his arms. "You seem like you could use a hug." He says, a soft smile.

I nodded and stood up too, my body melting into his arms. The hug felt right, like I was made for Keith somehow.

After a minute or two the oven interrupted us and started beeping. Me and Keith, not letting go, look to the oven. I sigh as I let go, grab the oven mit, and go to get it.

It looks perfect as it comes out and I check to make sure it's good. Once it passes the final inspections, I let it sit there to cool off.

"So Lance..this is probably an awkward question but,"

"..do you believe in love?"

IM SO SORRY! I haven't been keeping with the schedule I've been told I was doing and I'm so incredibly sorry for that. School work and being sick for a good while takes your mind off things like this. Well, hope you all enjoyed this chapter. See you in the next one!
