Watership Down - Bigwig X Doe

After a few more days the Doe finally opened her eyes, her body hurt badly and she couldn't move probably. As she looked around she started to wonder where she ended up, as she suddenly saw another Rabbit. She tried to stand up and growled, but she couldn't stand for long and broke down again.

„easy there, don't be afraid your save.“

„Im not afraid, and if I have to I will fight“

As Bigwig saw her standing in the middle of the hole, shivering in pain but still growling at him he couldn't help but laugh a little.

„ alright, alright.“

Bigwig walked backwards out of the hole to give the Doe more space so she could hopefully relax a little, but she stayed where she was and still in a fighting position. Bigwig sight and shoke his head, she was really stubborn.

„Oh hey Bigwig, what is going on down here? Hazel send me to look if the Doe is awake“

The Doe didn't trust her eyes as she saw a little mouse coming up to the Rabbit and talking to him

„Morning Hannah, and you can tell Hazel that she is awake. But maybe it's best if not everyone comes here at once, I think that she is a little on edge“

The mouse called Hannah looked at her and seemed to know what the Buck meaned and run outside again, after a short while a brown Rabbit Buck an a yellow Doe hopped in. Again the Doe growled.

„Hello, my name is Hazel the leader of this Warren, that's my mate Primrose and You already know Bigwig here.“

„You don't have to be afraid of us, we won't hurt you. Bigwig found you badly wounded in the forest and brought you here, we took care of your wounds.“

Slowly Primrose made her way into the hole but the Doe backed away bumping with her butt against the Wall behind her, she growled and struck with his paw in the air to defend himself.

„Stay away from me, I swear that I will Kill you even if it's the least thing I do“

„you poor thing, please calm down we won't hurt you. We want to help you.“

„dont make me laugh, why would you take in a stranger and help her?“

„because that's what we do, your not our Prisoner. If you want to go you can go, but your still hurt and we would like you to stay a little longer. Just until your fully healed, please.“

„If I can go when I want then step out of my way“

Primrose looked sad butade her way out of the hole and stepped to the side, without saying another word the Doe started to take one step after another. Her legs were wobbly and after a few steps she broke together, as Bigwig wanted to help her she growled.

„Don't you dare come near me“

Hazel was holding out his paw to show not to go near her

„Lets leave her alone for a while, she needs to rest and understand what happened“

„I will sent someone to bring her some Flayra, the wounds will heal quicker if her body gets her strength back“

„Thats a good idea Primrose“

Hazel and Bigwig looked at each other and nod before Hazel followed Primrose outside. The Doe was exhausted and after some time she fell asleep again, after a while longer Blackberry and Campion came back with Salad, Carrots and Apples. Blackberry placed the things down in the hole and Campion in front of Bigwig, he nod and started to eat.

„Her wounds look better, she is strong“

„thats good to hear, what is she like Bigwig“

„She must have been through a lot, she doesn't trust anyone“

„Understandable, she woke up in a strange hole and was confronted with  strange Rabbits.“

„We should go Campion, If she wakes up and sees more new Rabbits she will be more confused“

„your right Blackberry, you alright down here Bigwig“

„I keep myself entertained“

The two made their way out and short after the Doe woke up, the smell of the Flayra was delicious. She looked up and saw Bigwig nibble on a Carrot, and in front of her were also laying Carrots and salad but what let her eyes grow wide was the sign of the big and shiny red apple. She sniffed at it but couldn't smell anything bad and she didn't now when the last time was she eat something, as she bite in the apple she didn't know how describe this feelings.

„So someone has a sweet tooth, they are good right?“

She was surprised and stopped but the hunger was to big and she just eat again without saying a word, she looked up again as another apple was placed in front of her. Bigwig was sitting in front of her and as she looked up to him, he was a big and muscular Rabbit. He pushed at the apple with his paw and the apple rolled against the Doe, she didn't know what to say and looked back up at him.

„What do you say about a armistice? I didn't bring you here to hurt you, I found you in the forest with many deep wounds and barely breathing. I couldn't leave you their and so I brought you here to help you, Primrose and Blackberry took care of your wounds and they also brought you this food.“

She wasn't really sure what say, it was a very long time since she trusted someone. And the last time she trusted someone she was almost caught by the Black Rabbit of Inlé, but she couldn't smell the slightest bit of danger in this Warren. She looked back Down at the second apple, she placed a paw on it and pushed it back to Bigwig and then She looked up at him again.

„Raspberry“

„My name is Raspberry“
