Watership Down - Bigwig X Doe

Feelings

One day Raspberry was outside playing with the kids as Bigwig came to her

„Im going down to the farm to get some Flayra, would you like to join me?“

„yes, of course“

They made their way down the hill and to the Farm, they looked for the Dog and the Cat but the Farm was empty. They sneaked through a hole under the fance and digged out some Carrots, beens and salat. Suddenly Raspberry felt something wet drop on her face and she looked up, the clear sky was suddenly covered in dark clouds.

„We should go Bigwig, a storm is coming“

He looked up and nod

„your right, and this one looks really bad. Take what you can carry and we will go back“

They collected everything they could and made their way back, the Rain came down hard and they couldn't see very well. As they arrived in the forest they could hear Thunder roaring, they arrived at a river they had to cross but the water rised so hight that the bridge was already covered.

„We can't cross the river, it's to dangerous. We need to find some shelter“

They looked for a place they could hide as suddenly Raspberry felt something watch them, as she looked around she saw two yellow glowing eyes into one of the bushes. At this moment a Wiesel jumped out of the Bush and charged at Bigwig, he didn't realized it. Raspberry let go of the Carrots in her mouth and jumped at Bigwig,

„Bigwig!“

she pushed him away just in time. The Wiesel jumped at Raspberry and she kicked him I'm the face with her back paws, the Wiesel was distracted and Raspberry could wiggle out under the Wiesel.

„Raspberry!“

She heared Bigwig call out to her but it was to late the Wiesel struck at Raspberry and hit her with his Claws right at her shoulder and her face, Bigwig charged the Wiesel and tackled him away. The Wiesel lost his balance and fall in the River, he was washed away immediately. Bigwig run back to Raspberry, she was laying in a puddle.

„Raspberry are you alright?“

Raspberry was a little weak on her legs but she managed to stand up, Bigwig got next to her and steadied her. They walked for a while before they finally found a hollow tree trunk, it wasn't much but it was dry and they could hide their. Raspberry laid down and Bigwig lay next to her, she was shivering and so her cuddled up to her a little. He looked at her and saw that she had a deep scretch at her head below the ear and at her Shoulder, without thinking he started licking the wounds. As he cleaned the wound at her ear Raspberry flinched a little, Bigwig immediately stopped and seemed to realize what he had done.

„Oh ähm, im sorry. I just wanted . . . I . . . I just wanted to clean the wounds before it gets worse so I. . .“

He was interrupted as he heared Raspberry giggle lightly, Raspberry thought that it was really cute that he was so emberresed.

„Its okay Bigwig, it's just that. . . Well . . .“

Now it was Raspberry that was emberresed, she cuddled closer to Bigwig and placed her head down on his Paws.

„Its just that I'm really sensitive at my ears so . . .“

Bigwig was surprised about how bold she just got near him but he didn't felt uncomfortable, to be true it was the opposite around. He felt very comfortable with her cuddling up to him and he quickly relaxed, he placed his head on hears and chuckled under his breath.

„Think you can bare with it a little longer, I promise I will be gentle“

Raspberry nod still emberresed and Bigwig started to clean the wound again, after that he laid his head down next to hers, his face was so close that she could feels his breath on her face. He had closed his eyes but she couldn't help but watch him a little longer, for a moment she thought that if she would move her head just a tiny bit then she would touch him with her nose. But was this really the time for this, and on top of that what would he think of this and what would he do if he noticed it. She was so confused, how was it possible that she felt so save and secure with Him around. She never felt something like this before, he was a very brave and Strong Rabbit. He was nice it was fun to be around him, Raspberry really enjoyed her time with him. But their was more, she felt happy. But then she thought of her past, was she really allowed to feel that way. What if her past will caugth up to her, what if something will happen to everyone. Was it really save to stay at Watership Down? But was it really possible to find her here, she was very far away so why shouldn't she be save. She looked at Bigwig again and then laid her head down next to his again, she closed her eyes and it didn't take long for her to fall asleep. As she opened her eyes she saw that Bigwig wasn't their anymore, she looked around and sniffed. She followed his sent and found him just a few hopps away from the tree, he was collecting the Flayra that was still on the ground after last night. The sky was clear and no sign of the storm from last night

„Good morning. . .“

Raspberry said in a low voice and Bigwig turned around

„Oh yeah . . . Good morning, we should go back quickly. The others must be worried, lets take the Flayra and return. The river is peaceful again, we should be fine crossing it now“

Without really looking at her he stared to hopp of, Raspberry was confused. She didn't imagine what happened last night did she? Why is he so distant all of a sudden?
