Freshly born, a beautiful young child looks up at her parents. Ears perked up with curiosity, eyes big and wide and her tail still fluffed up from her crying fit. She was absolutely adorable, nothing horrible could happen.

...

..R- right..?

Though she didn't look it, Noro had grown to be quite the rough houser, though she was shy and hid her left eye, due to it being green rather than blue unlike her right. She didn't like hanging out with the other kids who had cat features like her, which made her unusual. Noro had made friends, but none close, with a couple of birds, and elk. Her only best friend was her cat. Its rare now to find a cat who wasn't more human than animal. Noro understood her pet cat, but was unsure of the gender. She just called them Mittens, and would refer to Mittens as either he, she, or them quite often. It appeared to have confused most. Her having cat features, and owning a cat herself, might be one of the things that kept her from making friends. That, and she also just preferred being alone. She felt better by herself, less scared. Though she did enjoy playing with the other kids, she enjoyed playing with her cat more.

"Hey Noro!" A familiar voice excitedly exclaimed from behind, it was her feathered friend! She looked behind her and he waved one of his wings, it was hard to see because of his beak, but he was beaming with happiness. His eyes showed more than his mouth. "Terik!" She crouched down into a feral position, he followed her actions. "You're going down today." She pointed to him with a long nailed finger, flicking her tail, her ears close to her head as they had lowered down, ready to play fight. She was small, much smaller than basically everyone, and Terik was the biggest of the crows she hung out with. But Noro was strong and resilient, she had to be held down, even that was hard because of how she squirmed and dug in the dirt. Terik was one of the people who had barely any human resemblance other than walking and talking. He had hands, his arms were human, just covered in feather fuzz, like any baby bird. They both let each other take the first move, the only thing now was who would accept the opportunity first..

Terik faked Noro out a couple of times, until she finally decided she had enough, and charged him, shuffling left and right to confuse him, she wanted to be unpredictable. The space getting smaller and smaller between her and her 'enemy' as he looked ready to take on what she had. She finally got in range, the perfect moment to attack her prey, at least she hoped with all her heart. She was close, and filled with confidence.

And so she leaped.
