Chapter 1: Me

I'm Lydia Vacino and I'm 19 years old. I go to Seoul University of Arts, while I'm training at Summer Star Company.

I started training here when I was 15. I got inspired by a group of boys, but that's not what I should be talking about right now.

My family didn't approve of my career choice of wanting to be a musician. My family wanted me to become a doctor.

My dad died when I was 10 years old from lung cancer. He died at age 52 because he smoked at least 3 packs of cigarettes a day, which caused lung cancer. He also was going to parties, hosted by his friends, and comes home drunk every single day. There wasn't a day where he wasn't drunk. Whenever he's drunk, he would yell, physically abuse, and curse at my mom.

After he died, my mom became strict with me. She wouldn't let me out of the house, would constantly yell at me, and abuse me. She doesn't want me to become like my dad, so she did this.

She didn't know I had depression then and continued and wouldn't stop. During that time, there was only one thing that made me happy.......... Dancing and singing.

Whenever my mom would tell, or abuse me, I would go dance and sing in my room. Dancing and singing made me forget about everything that's going on in my life, that I hated.

Now, I'm happy with what I chose to do with my musical talent and hope I can create more music that everyone can listen to. I want to be a inspiration to people out in the world, who is dealing with problems in their lives. Even though my family doesn't approve of my career choice.
