"Promise me Alessandro, or I'm leaving." It was a quick, meaningful statement that made my heart drop.

She was-is basically physical and emotionally abused by a cop. Victoria spoke dully as she told me everything, from her very first arrest to the accident today. Anger coursed through veins, but I stayed calm and collected as she looked at me. I didn't know what made me angrier was the fact that this must've happen enough to where it didn't even bother her saying it or that she experienced it.

"Victoria," I spoke as she finished her story, she wiped her bloodshot eyes. But, you could tell she felt better as color started to return to her face. My hand started shaking, not of fear but of rage. I was already planning to rip this cop piece by piece, no man should disrespect a woman like that first off. Especially my woman.

Victoria closed her eyes as I asked for a name, I knew she wouldn't give me the information I wanted. My heart was beating like a drum, God what the hell is wrong with this World? I questioned myself.

"You don't have to go to school tomorrow," She nodded. Her big blue eyes opened and she stood, when she was just about to open the door, I stood and gently grabbed her hand. We both caught our breaths.

"Victoria, wait,"

Her hand was ice cold and from the goosebumps on her pale skin that she needed the warmth I provided. She looked up to me, God damn... She's so fucking beautiful.

"Go get some sleep, and if you're up to it, your first meeting is tonight at eight." A ghost of a sleepy smile painted her lips.

"I'll be there," I kissed her hand and walked her to the door.

Ten minutes later, I was on the phone. The winter air made me feel better as I sat on my back patio.

"Tapes? I don't know dude..." He sighed, I rolled my eyes. Tapes? Resse could get anything, why is he so hesitant?

"Resse," I seethed. "I need those tapes. I know something happened and it had to be one of those cops from the cafe... Get me his name and address."

"You want his rank too?"

"Oh geez, I don't know. Does a wild bear shit in the woods?"

"Damn, on edge much. What even happened?"

Pace yourself, Alessandro, pace yourself.

"None of your goddamn business." And I hung up.

Once my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.

"You're so lucky!" I recognize the voice as Olivia's. Smiling I turn to face her, next to her is Marco. Marco smiles as he looks down towards her, Olivia has a b-

"Victoria," I was gently shook awake. Opening my eyes softly, I saw Mrs.Lucia. Her grey hair pulled back into a bun, she smiled at me.

"It's time to get ready dear," I nodded and looked towards the clock, four o'clock. Four hours till the meeting.

Quickly I hopped into the shower, the steam arose to the ceiling as the hot raindrops caressed my body. I took a deep breath, slowly washed my face, my body, and my hair. With every drop that ran down my body and into the drain, I imagined his touch running down and off my body as well. I shaved my legs then dried myself off. Deciding to put on some lotion I checked my phone for any messages.

One unread message:

Unknown number: Hey Victoria it's Dalton. Olivia gave me your number... Just making sure you're okay gimme a call or somethin

I smiled. Shooting a text back his way and wrapped in a towel, I started to floss my teeth, then brushing my hair, I saw another box on the bed.

Victoria,

I hope you feel better.

And I do. Just like in the past, I feel better after some rest. Talking to Alessandro helped too as if a weight was lifted off my shoulders, even if the fearing memories still lay in my head. It was such a strange feeling that I had someone to talk to. To feel as if someone would actually hear me, it felt nice to be noticed. Underneath the gold gift wrap, there was a floor length maroon dress. Slipping it on, it fitted perfectly. Silver heels lay underneath that and a diamond necklace. After I finished changing, I admired myself in the mirror.

A Gucci way to end the day. I smile to myself as I put my hair up into a tight bun, I will make it through this again. Even if I don't, I must.

I put on my dark red matte lipstick, light dusting of eye-shadow and eyeliner. Looking deeper in the gift box, I saw waterproof mascara. All of which was left underneath the dress, it still amazes me Alessandro treats me this well... What did I do to deserve it?

"Perfetto, Victoria." Resse smiles as I open my bedroom door. He too was dressed nicely in a white button down dress shirt, navy blue slacks, and tan shoes.

"Thanks," I can't wait for Alessandro to see me through. "You look pretty fine too." I chuckle as we link arms. His tattoo making its appearance.

"Yeah, I do don't I?" He chuckled as we made our way through the dimly lit hall.

A few seconds passed and he looked towards me. "Vic," He stared and we stopped walking. I faced him and rose one eyebrow in questioning.

"I don't know what happened today, Alessandro said and I quote "None of your goddamn business," Resse mocked his voice. I laughed and rolled my eyes, glad Resse can always cheer me up. "But, I do want you to know that I am here for you, alright?" My heart clenched.

Instead of replying I hugged him tightly. The smell of his apple shampoo filled my nose.

"Thank you so much Resse," He hugged me back, then pulled me to arms length.

"Well, I don't wanna keep the boss waitin'!" He hooked our arms together and started walking once more. A streak of anxiety passed through me.

"Resse?" He hummed in response. "What is this meeting about?"

"I can't really let the cat out of the bag just yet, but I want you to know one thing." He inhaled and exhaled slowly. "We are not the bad guys,"

Oh lord what did I get myself into?
