(so I kind of forgot about the cliff hanger that I put at the end of the last chapter sorry. I have been writing another story, called Revenge. It is also about assassins. oops. any ways, sorry sorry sorry that it has been so long since I last updated!!)
May shot up right, throwing of warm silky blankets that were very unfamiliar. Golden light filled the room that May was in, illuminating the pretty deep blue walls and the deep wood furniture placed along the walls. The room was huge, and so was the bed, which was adorned with silky light blue blankets. The colors and the textures of the fabric were strange and new to May, who had lived a plain poor life in the city with her mother, grand father, and her brother. In the city there was no color aloud, thanks to the Knights, the only real authority in the entire kingdom. A blonde woman was sitting in a plush couch, wearing bright, gross color that hurt Mays eyes. The woman wasn't very thin, but she wasn't plump. One could say she was well fed. At least, a City Dweller would. Blonde curls framed her face, which was pale, but looked cakey.. like she had put a fine and rare flour on her face to add color. Her lips were an un natural bright color that matched her clothes. Her eyes were a light green, and they sparkled with amusement. ''Are you done checking me out little girl?'' The woman asked. Her voice had a slight bell like sound to it, and it was clear. There was no hunger in her voice. Every ones voice in the City were ruff, hungry, needy whiny awful. ''I see that you aren't. I'm Summer, but you will call me, Miss Summer, because I will be teaching you. Put these on, and quick. We need to start our tour already. It is already midmorning.'' The woman, no, Miss Summer, seemed to have.. a playful manor, like.. a puppy after it was well fed for the first time. ''alright Miss Summer.'' May stiffly took the silky gray clothes from Summers out stretched hand. Summer closed her eyes and laid her head back against the couch, seeming to be listening to something that May couldn't hear. She quickly scrambled off the huge bed and proceeded to strip right than and there. She was used to changing in front of strangers. In fact, being in a room at all to change was sort of new, and something that May had missed for a long time. At first she couldn't figure out how the dress went on, because it was so different from what she wore. The color was the same almost. The fabric difference seemed to make the colors vary a lot more. At last, she figured it out, and when she did, Summer opened her eyes, and smiled warmly. '' I see you actualy figured it out. Good. Now I'm going to show around this floor, which is the only one youre alowed to be on for now ok?'' May nodded, shifting uncomfortably. New clothes were un common. One had to grow a foot before one could get new clothes.
Summer opened the huge doors, huffing from the effort for a minute. A world of wonder and excitement and bright colors bombarded May, and she felt slightly dizzy. Huge windows, nearly reaching the ceiling, which was nearly 40 feet high, were spaced evenly in both directions, and people had set up little shops all along the corridor, each selling different things. Non of them really looked like actual people. A little to the left of Mays door, there was a slightly taller than normal woman with honey colored knee length hair. Some of it from right above her ears was pulled back, revealing pointed ears. The woman turned, and May noticed that the pulled back hair was braided. Wings were neatly folded to her back. May gasped at the sight of them. Her mother had told her the legends about the fair elves, a mixed breed. They were part Fairy, and part elf. From the fairy side, they got the magic and the wings. From the elf side they got the height, the creative engineering brain, the hair length. But they weren't accepted in either communities, so they had started their own. Summer smiled, watching May take in the corridor before her. Just than, a guy clad in a black tight assassins leather approached her, and she temporarily forgot about her charge. Over the clamor of the busy hall market, May could just barely make out the sounds of beautiful music being played below. She ran to a window that happened to be straight across the hall. Since it was still quite early, there werent many people for May to apoligize to as she ran to the window. She unlatched the low golden latch that helped keep the window closed, and pulled with all her weight to get the window to open, and at last it did. It swung open slowly, and the music became louder. A few people who could only be elves stopped to listen, and to examine the assassin trainee. Usualy they wore tight gray leather, that replicated the fully trained assassins, but they noticed that this girl wore a loose, flowing gray dress and knew that she was one of Summers aprentices. Summer didnt care much for the leather. While May leaned out the window observing the court yard below that stratched far out into the horizon, she noticed a huge expanse of flower gardens, and little creatures that were too big to be bees flitted around the plants. May couldnt make out many details, because she was so high up. She just saw the colorful dust that the unual creatures left behind. They must be fairies! May giggled to herself, leaning out farther. All of the sudden, a yellow thing streaked by her nose, and startled, May fell away from the window. The yellow thing came back. It was a little fairy in yellow Daisy petal clothes. May had seen yellow Daisys once. The little fairy began to chirp, in the fairy language, and May smiled. Summer happened to pop up than, and she shoed the fairy out the window, which she than began to swing shut. The fairy decided that it would not be gotten rid of easily, and so she zipped around the ope window, hiding behind Summer. May giggled when the fairy began to help Summer close the window. It shut finlly, and Summer sighed. ''Now, May, fairies are crazy little demons that w try not to let up here all right? keep the windows closed!'' A Fair Elf happend to walk by then. He was shorter than the one from before, and his hair was a dark brown. His skin was an olive color, and his eyes were a dark chocolate color. He frowned at Summer, sighed, and said ''I really don't think that fairies are alway annoying, unless they try to.. any ways, yes, fairies are good friends.'' And then, he walked away, disappearing into the growing crowd. Summer sighed, and rolled her eyes. The fairy began to copy cat her from May' side. Summer didn't seem to notice. ''Fair Elves are very proud of themselves, and of fairies, and of elves, even though fairies and elves shun them for being a mixed breed. Their leader, Mitaka, is quite full of himself. The Fairy and Elf leaders hate him for it. They are quite subdued and when this crazy felf came along, They didn't agree with him much as you can see. Maybe you will meet Mitaka today. He likes to be up on the third floor quite often.'' May nodded, and Summer led her down the hall, showing her all the different rooms, and shops, and creatures that roamed about. ''Summer, do they all live here?'' May inquired after passing a group of routy dwarves. ''No May. The living quarters for the different creatures are only used during the Harvest Trade, and the Negotiations. Dwarves hate to be above ground for too long, Elves would never survive with out being close to their element, and fairies, they just love being out doors, or annoying me.'' Summer had noticed the copy cat fairy a while back, but had done her best to ignore her. ''Oh I see. And where are their living quarters?'' May asked, while she watched the dwarves push each other around, speaking in a rough guttural language that almost hurt her ears and reminded her of the City Dwellers. '''Up a floor. On Floor four. But only Mitaka cares to stay around for longer than a month and a week at a time out of the year. Marble is his element. This castle was built by the Giants eons ago, and at that time they were obsessed with marble. In fact, they hired Fairies to change the colors of the marbles. Your room is an example of that.'' Summer's attention was caught by the dwarves, as one shoved another in to her. She stayed standing, but she did begin to reprimand them in their own tongue. They bowed to her sheepishly, and scuttled away, Their long white beards sweeping along the floor as they went. ''This place was built by giants?'' May gasped, looking around with a new awe in her eyes. ''Yes, now lets go. You need to see the bath area and the training room before we can really have fun.'' And with that Summer pulled May along down more huge corridors.
