Very short but I wanna save it for the next part ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 💞
————

"Tsukauchi Naomasa, please step into the podium and begin the tests."

"Yes, your honor," the man was stony, not.. Not welcoming. All Might gulped at his trusted friend's face, cold and carefully locked up to shield his emotions. He always acted like this whenever he was onto a serious case.

It was part of his job to not let emotions get into the way, the only answer should be born out of logical thinking- not bias. Consider this- your close friend has committed first degree murder, and is under investigation. You are put on the case, disbelieving at first, but then more evidence spring up, more evidence to be used against your closest friend. They have been by your side for years, and has done nothing to wrong you.

What will you do?

Will you let your emotions get in your way? Maybe tamper with the physical evidence? It'll give your friend a chance to escape- to have another try at life. To right his wrongdoings, to repent. But on the other hand, a killer of a life which could've had the same opportunities will go unjustified, released to the public with a family who will never get closure due to the suspect getting free.

Or will you put your emotions aside? Present the evidence to court? Lock your beloved friend away to rot in a cell, while you stand free. But the family is happy, crying, for they've found comfort. It's only logical. If they've committed a crime, what's the probability that they won't do it again? To not be a danger to not only the public, but to you? It's a logical ruse.

You will choose the best option of course.

"Shouta Aizawa, please step unto the podium please to begin the interrogation."

The clicking of his shoes were ominous in the quiet hall, deathly silent and devoid of any noise. Aizawa held his head up, unreadable, and stood before Tsukauchi, a couple millimeters smaller due to his slouch. He was relaxed, but alert. Naomasa acknowledged the frown. This man was confident.

"You May now speak, Aizawa." Naomasa activated his quirk, irises flashing a neon green like a camera. He read the body language, the man's heartbeat thrumming like a reading in his head.

"Would you consider Midoriya Izuku as a danger to the public?"

The look of indifference flickered in Aizawa's eyes. He's hesitating.

"Yes."

A few mutters were heard. Tsukauchi held up a hand. "Truth."

"Is Midoriya Izuku capable of taking another living being's life?"

"No."

"Truth." Naomasa felt Aizawa's pulse swell and calm again. Hm. "Has Midoriya Izuku fatally injured anyone before?"

"No."

Tsukauchi caught his hand fidget. Nothing drastic. "Truth. Has he taken a life, before?"

"No."

Tsukauchi leaned his head back, the heart beat in his head felt heavy, like the chimes of a grandfather's clock. "Truth." Aizawa's stature hasn't changed.

"Do you think Midoriya Izuku has killed anyone that you are not aware of?"

"No."

"Truth." Naomasa leaned forward, looking the man in the eyes with intensity. The quirk strengthened. "Is Midoriya Izuku.. The biological son you claim him to be?"

A beat.

A moment of silence, and the crowd is transfixed.

"Yes."

A loud pop resonated in his head, and Aizawa's pulse picked up.

Tsukauchi paused.

A lie.

Naomasa looked Aizawa in the eye one more time. He saw fire and defiance.

And he grinned.
