SUMMARY:

Louis has just gotten out of a bad relationship, and he's forced out of his house, kicking and screaming, by an extremely impatient Zayn. Louis is convinced that he'll never make it anywhere in life, but maybe Harry (a cute boy who works at the music store) can show him a little more about where he fits - and also, how to play guitar.

Zayn, on the other hand, is faced with the ups and downs of his own relationship with Niall; hoping that things will turn out okay while trying his best to keep Louis and Harry together. Then, Liam comes in, and busts through everyone's walls; and Harry's pretty sure that in the background, there'd be a particularly angry Green Day song. Or maybe, Wrecking Ball. Either would do.

That's the thing about real life; there's no background music.

INSPIRATION:

I saw the Instagram picture of Niall teaching Harry how to play guitar, and I just thought how amazing it would be if Louis could learn guitar from Harry. This story was originally a one-shot, and then it turned into a two-shot, and then it just sort of engulfed all of my free time; rendering it a novel in its own right.

I also noted the almost overwhelming majority of Louis fan art being of him playing bass, because, and I quote, 'bassist!louis is the hottest thing ever!'. I thought that it'd be even better if he was singing softly along to a song that he wrote, just to show how much he cares for Harry, because they're so enveloped in each other that they're all they individually think about. And Harry would sit, with his hands in his lap, just listening, and smiling when Louis picks at the wrong string and it sounds off because Louis is really just another human being, but Harry's so in love with him that he'd beg to differ.

WARNINGS:

This story is mostly innocent and clean except for an odd smut scene and coarse language; and Harry and Louis both are suffering the consequences of living alone for too long. They suffer from anxiety attacks even thought they both swear that they're over that. Please skip the marked chapter, or this book altogether, if any of that makes you uncomfortable. I will put a warning when there are triggering scenes/smut scenes/heavy coarse language.
