     "Gooooood morning Louisiana it is 8:32 am and I hope everyone is having a great day! Today it is 87 degrees outside it's starting to feel like summer! Shout out to those 2018 graduates who will be walking the stage in 3 weeks! After the break I have Jacquees You coming right at ya." Damion Said on his radio station as I turned over on my bed.

     It's was three weeks until I graduate and go on to college. It will be even more exciting if Cindy was here to celebrate with me.

     I got up and put on my fluffy slippers as I made my way to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth for at least 5 minutes and wiped my face.

     I headed towards the stairs as I headed down to breakfast. I was greeted by our Butler Raymond he was a nice older man and always watched after me.

     I ate my breakfast as I scrolled down my timeline on Instagram. Everyone was throwing a end of the year party and as usual I wasn't invited. Everything thinks I'm so pretty and have it made. Honestly I'm no different than the others.

     My phone started to ring as my cousin voice begin to speak. The different between us is that she's more out there. She knows everyone she is a well known person. She was never into the church thing and only came to visit when my mom and dad wasn't around because they will lecture about her.

     "Hey Val! You okay?" She said as I begin to laugh.

     "Yes I'm okay Mona. How you been?" I said as she begin to sign.

     "I've been okay just working and staying out the way. Girl kylvin has been getting on my damn nerves. Always thinking someone out here doing something. What you been doing?" She said as I begin to laugh.

     "Nothing at all just finish breakfast about to start reading the chapter in the Bible my dad has us studying." Mona begin to laugh and than she begin to talk.

     "Well you know I'm not into that church stuff but girl you heard about Destiny in of the year party? You have to go!" She said as I got excited for a minute than thought to myself there's no way I can go out.

     "Mona you know my parents are really strict. They only let me go to tea gatherings and anything that's church related." I said as I hear on the other line that she was getting annoyed.

     "Sneak out! You're 18 years old and ready to go to college! Have some fun once in your life! Meet me at my place tell Aunt Mel and Uncle Tone that you're going to one of your bible study friends house for a sleepover." She said as I begin to think. Maybe I could go out and experience what I've been missing. It's like what had happened to Cindy my parents been very strict on where I'm going.

     I hung the phone up as I went upstairs and begin to look for something to wear. I only had dress up clothes you know the church kind. Those were my everyday clothes. It's a respect thing as the church say.

     As the day goes by I end up getting dressed nervously as I picked up my purse and headed down the stairs. As I walked down the stairs I can see my mom and father in the large living area listening to gods music as they were reading their books. I begin to walk towards the to as I hugged and kissed them both.

     "Have a nice time at mindy I know you'll be safe over there. Be back by 8 in the morning. We have church and this is a really important day Val." My dad said as I nodded my head and walked out the door.

     My cousin lived only 5 blocks over. So it wasn't that far to her home. Once I pulled up you can see kids running around and people gossiping on each other porch. I exit my car and locked the doors and made my way into my cousin Mona house. When she opened the door she looked at me and laughed. She laughed so hard that she had no words.

     "No ma'am! You are not coming with me like that! I have something for you to wear. Here wear this." She handed me a tight white dress with some stiletto red heels. I quickly went to her restroom and got undressed. As I begin to put the dress and heels on I felt pretty. I felt differently , I felt alive.

    I walked out of the restroom as Mona looked at me with smiles.

      "That's it bitch let's go !" She said as she grabbed me and we headed to my car. On the way there she talked about her and kylvin. How they aren't the perfect couple out here but their doing everything for their 2 kids.

     Mona is a 18 year old mother. She had Nia at 15 and had Jr at 17. I can tell it's hard being a mother at that young age but she's doing a very good job and I applaud her.

     As we pull up to destiny party it looked like the whole city was there. There were people dancing, drinking, smoking, and people standing by cars talking.

     I was a little nervous because people didn't accept me because of the way I live. They never really gave me a chance to show them the real me. They just see what I have and not what I am.

     As we walked up to the house we instantly became apart of the party. People facing on each other and you can see everyone having a good time.

     You can see a lot of people eyeing me as if they were uncomfortable. Mona grabbed me and took me to the bar in destiny kitchen.

     "No no no Mona you know I can't drink!" I became nervous as I panicked.
     "Relax Val it's just one drink come on it's a party you're being wack right now." She said as she handed me a glass and we cheered. I begin to chug it down as I burned going down my throat. We begin to dance with each other as the night went by. I met a lot of cool people and they gave me a chance to really show myself.

     I felt welcomed i also felt like I belonged with the crowed. As I danced the night away a strange person came up behind me a pulled me in closely. I got scared and turned around fast.

     There he was chocolate nice looking tall and fine. He has a smile that will have you say yes automatically. He approached me as he toiled my hand and kissed it I begin to smile.

     "Val right? I see you all the time while picking up my brother from school. What you doing here? You don't seem like the type to be here and drinking." He said as I end up thinking to myself and started to look around. He's right what am I doing here. I don't belong here I'm no way near here I'm just some pretty spoon fed girl who mom and dad are the city providers.

   " You right I'm not supposed to be here. It was nice talking to you. Mona lets go." I said as I grabbed her hand and we start to walk towards my car.

     "See Val there you go! Always tripping! I was having fun! Why you do Marlo like that he seem like he was really feeling you." Mona said as we end up in the car as I started it. I was so drunk from the extra shots we began to take before I left the party I couldn't really drive.

    A tap on my window begin as I looked over to my left. It was him I was lowkey excited but than again I wasn't because guys like him only wants one thing.

     "Yes?" I said as he begin to chuckle.
     "You sure you can drive Val? I don't mind dropping you girls off myself. I don't want anything bad to happen." I smiled a little as how I like how he care about our lives. We knocked our heads as we got in Marlo car. It was like any other car. It was nice. It had real leather seats, a sunroof, a nice shine to it and the wheels were nice.

     As he drove us home I fell asleep on Mona shoulder.
