It had been a few weeks since Kate had saved him. John thought it was only appropriate to thank her. He looked into when her shifts were and "just so happened" to walk in when she was working at the front desk.

"Hey, Kate is it?" John walked up nonchalantly. Her face lit up when she heard his voice. She put what looked to be a patient file, back in its place.

"Yeah, it is, and you were John, right?" He chuckled.

"Yes, you saved me a couple weeks ago. I just wanted to thank you for saving my life." He eyed her up and down.

"Well, John, I get off in a few minutes. How about we get a couple of drinks down at the tavern?" He nodded and sat down in the waiting room. The white room was relaxing. John picked up a magazine, trying to pass the time.

Kate and John walked out of the hospital a little while later. They talked and joked. John felt the most relaxed he has in a while.

The tavern was loud and smelled of booze. The two of them drank the night away. Then Kate looked at John with a seductive look.

"H-Hey *hic*, l-lets go back to my place," John, who was still half lucid, tried to interject. He knew it wasn't right to go back to a woman's house when she is drunk. But he took a few drinks and he went willingly. They paid and left, stumbled down the sidewalk.

Turns out, her house was just a couple of blocks away. They had just got in the door when she jumped on him. They were all over each other. Bumping into walls and furniture, trying to get up the stairs.

Once they got up the stairs stuff... happened. But what they didn't know is, that night Kate became pregnant.
