Natsu vs. Arlic

The walk back was pretty standard for the Fairy Tail members. They walked into town and gave the casual wave to the residents of Magnolia. Arlic felt a little weird that he had to walk now instead of flying, but he wanted to stick close to his friends.

Natsu came up to the door and as usual busted door down. "We're back, everybody!"

"Hey guys!" The guild said with cheerful expressions all around.

Arlic looked around and couldn't help but smile at the fact that no one was looking at him weirdly. It was as if him being from another world didn't faze them anymore. He truly felt he was accepted.

He sat by the bar section where Mira was cleaning some glassware. "Welcome back Arlic, how was the job?" Mira said with her beautiful smile.

Arlic couldn't help but smile along with her. He didn't know what it was, but she just had this warm aura around her. "The job went well, but we didn't get paid."

Mira was confused by that. "If it went well, then how come you didn't get paid?"

So Arlic went on to explain what happened. He told her about how the job's pay went from, to fighting two professional mercenaries, and how the clients were never wealthy to begin with. Mira hung on every word as she gave the Saiyan her full attention.

"Wow, I have to say that was pretty mature of you guys." Mira said.

"Yeah, but since I didn't get paid looks like I'll be staying in the cellar." Arlic chuckled.

"That's okay, there will be other opportunities." Mira said.

"Yeah, but I have to say that it was pretty boring in some instances." Arlic said.

"How so?" Cana said as she sat right by him.

"Oh hey, Cana right?" Arlic said seeing if he remembered. He's still fairly new to the guild so he didn't want to forget anybody.

"Aaww, you remember my name. That's so sweet." Cana cooed while giving him a flirtatious look. Mira narrowed her eyes at the look Cana gave.

"Well to answer your question...the job was great, but the problem was the fights themselves." Arlic sighed.

"But you told me you and Natsu took on two mercenaries from the Southern Wolves." Mira said, not really understanding the problem.

"That in itself is no easy task." Cana said in agreement.

Arlic looked down at his hand. "The thing is...I'm a Saiyan. We Saiyans thrive on combat. Now I might've been one of the very few "nice" Saiyans on my world, but I still love a good fight  every now and then. So I guess that I'm disappointed that I haven't found a good challenge yet."

Mira looked at him softly, understanding his predicament. He said that he hated the work his people did, but he still had their instincts.

Cana placed her arm around his shoulder. "Cheer up hot stuff, there are plenty of wizards out there."

"Exactly, you'll find someone who can give you a good brawl." Mira said.

Arlic looked at them both and smiled. "You know, you two are right. After all I just got here, there's still plenty of things to do."

"Hey, if you want a real challenge then look no further!"

Arlic looked behind him to see Natsu standing there. He gave his signature grin, but at the same time had an intense fire in his eyes.

"I did say that you and I were going to fight soon, well tomorrow morning I want to take you on!" Natsu said, punching his flaming fist in his open palm.
