A Week From Freedom

I finished marking the number 7 on my wrist and smiled. Just one more week till I can finally leave this hell hole and move to Portland with my best friend. See I have been counting down the days since freshmen year. At first it was because of a book then it just helped me get through a lot and made me feel better that I survived another day in this hell hole. "BYE MOM I'M GOING TO ALEX'S!!" I shouted as I was putting on my black combat boots. "Okay bye but remember you have to finish packing when you get back!!" "I already finished so can I stay over at Alex's and help her pack?" Really we both finished packing because we were just that excited but I just wanted a better reason to stay at her place. "Yeah sure I have a meeting tonight and Alex your little brother will be at a friends house!" I always found it weird that both my best friend and my brother had the same name but whatever it's just hard to tell who my mom is talking about sometimes. See my mom and may seem like we have a good relationship when in fact it's the complete opposite. For years she never noticed I was depressed and never really helped me out. She never saw the cuts on my wrist, the tears in my eyes, she saw nothing. The only reason we are getting on now is because in just a few days I'll be 18 and I can leave this hell hole.

I ran out of my house and rode my skate board to her place. Se normally I'd ride my motorcycle but sadly my baby is being shipped off to our apartment so I have to use my skate board for the week which I'm okay with. As I rode into her drive way she was all ready outside jumping up and down. "Well you're in a good mood" I greeted my best friend "Hell yeah I am I was going to wait to give this to you on your birthday but I'm too excited!!" "What got you so excited you couldn't wait for one more week to give to me?" I asked curiously. " THESE!! " she screamed. They were cute matching belly button piercings with handcuffs that say best on one and bitches on the other. See 3 years ago we both got belly button piercings and this would be our millionth pair so I don't know why she's so excited. "Flip them over!!" She screamed in my ear. Damn I have no idea how I'm not def with her screaming it's like a freaking monkey and the most annoying animal had a threesome with a fucking siren or some shit. So I did I was told and flipped the case over and as soon as I did I was screaming like an annoy monkey siren too. "YOU GOT US TICKETS TO WARPED TOUR?!?!?!" "FUCK YEAH I DID!!" I tackled her with a giant bear hug and screamed. "Holy shit but dude we will miss it if we leave next week" I pointed out frowning. She just kept smiling and I couldn't help but wonder what was in her evil little head of hers. " I know that's why we're leaving tomorrow morning."

"HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET MY MOM TO SAY YES TO THIS?!?!" She just laughed at me and said "Well at first she was bummed cause she wouldn't be with you in your 18th birthday but I promised her I would have you face time her. It took a lot of convincing but I did it." She said proudly. I started tearing up and hugged her "I fucking love you" she just laughed and went to her room.

We decided to pic out an outfit to wear on the plane. I wanted to show off our new amazing belly rings so we went on crop tops skinny jeans and leather jackets in case it gets cold. I wore a black crop top I made myself with Andy Biersacks face on it with my crimson torn skinny jeans black combat boots and my favorite black leatherjacket and black beanie, while she went with her crimson crop top with Kellin Quinn's face on it black torn skinny jeans black combat boots and a black leather jacket. "We look like hot bad asses!!" She giggled I laughed as well and nodded in agreement.

We listened to music and just talked about our new lives and how things are gonna be and what it's gonna be like when we move in together. Talks like this also helped me out in high school when I was feeling down because it mad me think of how I will feel when I'm finally free. "I personally think our neighbors will think we are completely insane and call a hospital and see if they are missing some patients." I busted out laughing at Alex's thought and she laughed to "Yeah totally and the students will probably be afraid to even be in eye site of us!" We laughed even harder to the point we looked like fucking seals clapping and no noise came out of our mouths. When we finally caught our breath I moved on to a more important matter. "So I called the Hot Topic there and there are two openings for us and we start next week Monday and we have every day but Sunday." "Perfect. I can't wait we will be the best workers they have ever had!!" She laughed "Hell yeah we will be just by our crazy weirdness and how we talk about the things in that store they will sell everything!!" I smiled and clapped my hands together "Now for the most important thing for tonight is what when the hell are we going to eat." She fell to the floor laughing and said "You are the only person who gets as excited as me when it comes to food. How about pizza?" I laughed and agreed then called in for a medium meat lovers pizza and bread sticks. We may be girls but we can fucking eat.

While we waited for pizza we watched Supernatural since we watched Doctor Who the last time. If you hadn't guessed these are our favorite shows. When the pizza finally arrived I got up to pay for the pizza Alex came running screaming "ARIA GIVE ME MY FUCKING FOOD OR I WILL SELL YOUR FUCKING SOUL TO A GOD DAMN CROSS ROAD DEMON!!" The pizza guy gave us weird looks before he left and I just fell to the floor in a pit of laughter. See if you don't speak or allowed me to speak in TV/movie quotes or song quotes you might as well leave my presence before I skin you alive.

"HOLY FUCKING SHIT HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHY THE FUCKING DID THEY MAKE DEAN A DEMON HOW IS HE AND CAS GONNA HAVE MAGICAL ANGLE AND HUMAN SEX?!?!" I screamed in annoyance which was the perfect time for her mom to walk right through the door. "What the hell did I just hear?" Alex and I looked at each other and started laughing all over again. She graves us weird and questioning looks before she moved on. "So Aria are did Alex give you your surprise?" I smiled widely and nodded she smiled back and said "Well then I guess I should give you girls my good byes now since you have such an early flight." We got up and ran in her arms and said goodbye. To be honest I cried a little because she wasn't just like my mom, no she was my mom when mine couldn't be and I couldn't have been more great full for her. Then I felt a light slap on my head and turned to look at her "Don't cry or I will start to cry" she said as tears were forming in her eyes. I just gave a light laugh and wiped away my tears. "Oh yeah Alex we need to go and say goodbye to my mom and brother." She nodded and gave another hug to her mom before we went over to my moms office. Her meeting should be over by now anyway.

We walked in her office and I gave her the best hug I could possibly give her. "Thank you for letting me go." I whispered in her ear and she gave me a dry laugh "Well you're not a kid anymore." I realized that this would be the last time I could give her a smart ass remark in person so I went for it. "I was never a baby goat mom." She just laughed again and said "Wait to ruin the moment. Now Alex if you don't get your butt over here and say goodbye I may just make her stay." Alex smiled and walked and engulfed us in a huge bear hug. "Mom we don't have a lot of time and I want to say goodbye to Alex and go to sleep because our flights are super early tomorrow. Do you know where he is?" She released me and said, "Yeah he should be at the skatepark with his friends." "Thanks mama. I have to go. I love you and I'll call you when we land." As tears started to form in her eyes she smiled weakly and said "Be safe. Keep up with your studies and try to call as much as you can." I nodded and left. "We went to the skate park and the we saw made our jaws drop. There was a huge party with banners saying "HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY ARIA!!" And "GOOD LUCK ALEX AND ARIA!!" A smile formed on our lips and we got out of her car and ran up to my brother and gave him the biggest bear hug. "I- gasp- can't -gasp- breath" he said between breaths. We let him go and smiled and when he got his breath he smiled and said "Sis did you really think I'd let you leave without celebrating your birthday or wishing you guys luck?" We laughed and nodded and he made a mocking hurt kind of look, put his hand on his chest and gasped "How could you have ever think that I am so hurt" we laughed again the left to celebrate.

All our friends were here and kept wishing me happy early birthday or congrats. It was nice to see this many people wishing us luck. By 12:00 we decided to go back to her place and get ready for our flight which was at 5:00 so we had to be there at 4:00. There was point in sleeping so we just took showers and got dressed in the outfits we picked out before then stopped at my house to get the last of my bags. When we finally finished and loaded up Alex's moms truck it was 3:45 so we had to get going. Her mom came to the airport to drop us off as well as her older brother. We said our last good byes and went through security. "Well this is it" I said looking at my best friend "Yeah. We finally made it. Portland here we come." And there we went through security.
