I sit outside under the boiling Melbourne summer sun . Of course it's school holidays and I have nothing to do . I scroll through my Instagram feed staring at photos of kids at parties and the beach and theme parks . And I'm just here on my phone .
"Amber I'm bored." My younger sister Rebecca whines.
"Yeah so am I ." I reply
"Can we do somthing?" She asks annoyingly .
"I seriously can't be bothered ." I say plainly .
Rebecca groans and goes back to looking at her magazine .
I stare into my phone and I suddenly feel a freezing cold blast of water hit my back
"HOLY SHIT!" I squeal jumping out of my chair . I jump around and see my older brother Ethan holding a bucket full of water balloons . He throws one at Rebecca who squeals .
" Get away !! " Rebecca yells.
" I heard screaming is everything alright ? " a concerned voice says from behind us . I turn around an notice an extremely tall boy with beautiful ocean blue eyes and blond hair styled into a quiff , standing in front of our fence.
"Oh yeah umm , everything is fine " I stutter staring into his eyes .
"Oh cool , okay . I just wanted to make sure. You know when you hear screaming it's usually for a bad reason . " he says smiling .
"Yeah well don't worry everything is Hunky Dory ! Umm thanks though. " I say quickly . Oh god every word that I say is just getting awkwarder . Who the hell says hunky dory ?
The boy nods. And smiles
" umm I'm Amber ." I say and he smiles again showing off his dimples .
" I'm Luke - oh my god " he says his expression changing from nice to concerned .
"What ? " I ask
"You're umm bleeding ." He says awkwardly .
"What ! " I say , I don't feel any pain any where. I'm pretty sure I haven't cut myself. I look down and notice what he means by 'bleeding' .
My face flushes bright red and I cover my face with my hands.
"Shit . Umm I have to go " I say quickly and quietly , running into the house. Could this get any awkwarder? Why can't everything just go well in front of cute boys. Why do things like this have to happen ? Oh god.
Tears rush to my eyes and I'm literally shaking . Please god never make me see this boy again .
" Amber , are you okay ? " Ethan asks leaning against the doorway.
"Oh yeah Ethan I just couldn't be greater !" I exclaim sarcastically .
"Well at least I know you won't be going on a date with that boy , ever. " he says chuckling .
"Oh you're just making this situation even better , really thanks . " I say sternly and he stops laughing .
" hey I'm sorry , you'll probably never see him again ," he says trying to make me feel better .
"Yeah well knowing my luck I probably will . " I mutter .

I woke up the next morning still feeling extremely awkward about what happened. How could I embarrass myself like that in front of him . And he was just so gorgeous !
I head down stairs to the kitchen where my mum was making pancakes.
"Hi sweetie did you sleep well? " she asks and I raise my eyebrows.
"All I could think about was yesterday ." I mutter.
" Amber things happen , you just have to accept them and move along with life. I'm sure that boy has completely forgotten about it ."
"Yeah right , he's probably told all his friends ! " I exclaim
" hey please stop thinking so negatively ! How about you go shopping today ? That always makes you feel better ! " my mum says changing the subject .
"Alright ,thanks " I reply. Buying clothes always makes life better.
"You're brother will drive you ." She says .
"Do you want me to throw up in front of a hot guy? " I reply
"Hey I'm an amazing driver okay?" Ethan adds from behind me .
"Oh yeah , if amazing means giving the other passengers car sickness , you are the most amazing !" I say giving him a fake smile.
"Aww thanks " he replies sarcastically .

We make our way to the shopping centre , without me throwing up and I head inside browsing through the stores. Ethan walks along beside me
" why are you even here ? " I ask him .
"Because I want to spend some quality time with my sister " he replies
"Alright , well you better not complain because we aren't going to the food court for a few more hours " I add and he stares at me in disbelief .
" do you want me to starve to death?" He asks and I roll my eyes . I turn around walking straight into somebody .
"Oh god ,sorry about that " I say apologetically . The boy looks at me and smiles .
"Amber right ?" He asks and I nod . The boy wears a black pair of raybans and a SnapBack .
"Umm do I know you ?" I ask and he nods taking of his sunnies.
I stare into his deep blue eyes .
"L-uke? " I stutter.
My breathing becomes heavier and I can feel my face burning up .
"Yeah , hey I'm really sorry about yesterday , I didn't mean to make that awkward , I just freaked out, I thought you had actually hurt yourself." He says apologetically . My vision starts to become dizzy and everything turns dark .
