Where It All Began

Nr. 4

"You okay?" Jacob asked holding my wrist to see if anything happened to them. "Yeah I'm fine"

"It's not safe for them here anymore." a girl said coming closer. "They need to come with us."

"Come with you to where." Joey asked defensively.

I looked up to Jacob then back to Joey.

"Come sit down Joey and we'll tell you everything you want to know." a man in his late 40's said.

Some were standing and some were seated and the guy started explaining.

"We are vampires. And we need to go since they found you two." he said and they all left.

Well Jacob, that brunette guy and the dirty blond girl stayed.

"So we're not going to the tour I guess." I said trying to get Joey to calm down a bit.

"How am I supposed to tell my parents I had to leave with a vampire gang to some place I don't even know where-"

"The woods." the brunette guy interrupted but Joey gave him a stink eye.

"Because some other vampires are trying to kill us." he finished what he wanted to say.

"Just tell them you're at Tara's place till you have to leave for the tour. I'm sure they will believe you." the dirty blond said trying to make a point.

"What about her parents then." Joey asked.

"My parents are leaving later today for three months on a business trip." I said and I could feel Jacob's eyes on me.

"You guys better be packing up if you want to get a ride to your new place." Jacob said and Joey went to his room.

"What about my stuff." I asked standing up.

"Don't worry, I got that done when you left your place this morning." the girl said. "oh and by the way I'm Caroline, Jacob's sister." she introduced herself.

"And this is my brother Aaron." Jacob showed to the brunette guy.

"Before you ask, we don't come from the same parents because we are adopted." Aaron said and they nodded.

I just nodded and looked to the glass that was broken.

"OH, mind if we use your car." Caroline asked and I gave her the keys but she gave them to Jacob.

We heard Joey come down with his bags and we went out to the car.

I helped Joey put his things in the trunk and we got in.

Jacob was driving, Caroline called shotgun and Aaron, Joey and I were in the back.

"So where exactly in the woods are we staying." I asked looking at Joey who was staring outside the window.

"You'll see." was all Jacob said and the car ride was silent since then.

I wasn't planning on this.

Well I never even thought this was even ever gonna happen.

So I guess my life won't be the same from this day. I mean Joey and I.

We arrived at a huge house mostly made of glass.

It was dark by now and there were lights in the place.

We got out the car, no one saying a word.

Joey and I got our bags and Jacob gave me my keys back.

"I don't like this but I guess we got ourselves into this." I heard Caroline say to Jacob and he just rolled his eyes.

I looked at Joey with an apologizing look and he shook his head. "It's okay, I'm not mad at you, I'm just...very...i don't even know how to feel right now to be honest."

Jacob opened the doors of the house and we all stepped in.

"You two will be sharing a room, since we weren't planning on having guests." Caroline said in a rude tone.

"Caroline could you chill for a sec and stop being so rude to them." Aaron defended.

"Whatever." she waved us off while walking the opposite direction.

"Is she always like this?" I asked kinda getting annoyed by her behavior.

Jacob turned to look at me while placing his weight against the wall. "No, just around humans." he said with a grin.

I rolled my eyes then looked up to the flight of stairs in the right corner.

"Aaron will show you to your room." he said also going into the direction his sister went.

Why now all of a sudden his acting strange. Not to say I already know how he acts in some situations.

Aaron stared walking up the stairs and Joey was next to follow.

"Does your whole kind live here?" I asked.

"No, it's just Jacob, Caroline, our parents and I. The rest are around here with they're own families but we all live close. Well for us vampires it's close but for you humans it's kinda far to walk or run." he said opening our door "Well here you go, we'll be downstairs if you need anything." then he left.

I closed the door behind me and saw Joey sitting on the bed.

"Joey." I said walking a little closer to him.

"How long have you known." he asked looking me straight in the eyes.

When ever he does that I can see the emotions run wild in his eyes.

"Three weeks now."

"And you never planned on telling me, not even me out of all the people."

"I wasn't going to tell anyone."

"How, where, when."

"When school started on my way to pick up Ciara I felt like someone was with me in my car, when we had our first class that same day I felt it too. Later that night I saw him Jacob of course in my house, he told me that this was going on for months but he never wanted me to find out." I said.

"Look Joey, I really don't want to fight with you because I hate it when we do." I said feeling my voice break with hurt.

He pulled me into a warm hug, his arms around my neck and my arms around his torso. "I also don't want to fight, it's just everything is happening so quickly."

We pulled away. "I'm tired let's sleep." I said and he nodded.

We got everything set out and made ourselves at home then went to sleep.
