I coughed leaning forward a little, I couldn't believe I was here sitting in a booth with Rakim since we were currently at Waffle House waiting for our Breakfast to cook. I had decided I wanted to go on a breakfast date with him ,since nick had been pressuring me since he think it would be a good idea. I turned my head looking at the cloudy skies regretting of not bringing umbrella seeing Rain start to pour heavily. I look back at Rakim getting a little caught off guard at the fact he was already staring at me, I smile slightly trying to break the awkward moment.
"What's wrong?"Rakim asks, I shake my head letting him know I was fine. I take a sip of my Apple Juice, feeling my phone buzz in my Front pocket. I reach down getting out of my pocket, clicking the power button seeing a message from Kentrell and Nick. I ignore them putting my phone face down on the table.
"Alright I have a All star breakfast with Scrambled eggs with Cheese, Sausage, and two bacon strips with Grits with Cheese, and hash brown with a waffle.And I have a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Texas melt with Hash brown and A blueberry waffle." The waitress says putting down our food on the table, I light up seeing my food.
"Thank you." I say as I grab a fork and warmed Syrup.
"No problem sweetheart, y'all enjoy the food." She smiles walking away to check on a different table. I pour the syrup on my eggs and meats, and my waffle.
"So how have you been? I haven't seen you since Graduation." Rakim says
"I've been fine I guess, I got accepted to Georgia State University. I start at the end of August." I say smiling eating a sausage with a spoon of grits.
"That's Wassup, at least you getting away from all this shit. I know yo mom's is happy as hell since her baby is going away for college." He laughs as I join him since my mom is like that.
"Hell yeah, you should've seen her acting crazy when I got my acceptance email. Her ass wouldn't stop screaming and crying at the same damn time." I shake my head
"So you in a relationship right?" Rakim says getting straight to the point. I cough harshly getting my drink taking a few sips.
"Uh yeah, but I don't even know if we're gonna be together when I leave in a couple weeks. He thinks I'm not going to college since I haven't told him I got accepted yet." I say putting my head down
"I mean he should be happy you leaving the south side, hell at least you get a chance to be something other than a another nigga on the corner street." He says looking confused
"I don't know, I guess I'll see when I tell him.How about you? You in a relationship?" I asked him wanting to get the attention off of me.
"Tsk hell no." He laughs out loud throwing his head back.
"Why you say it like that?" I laughed
"Nah it's just im waiting for somebody else right now." He smirks making eye contact with me, I smile looking to the side.
"Boy Whatever." I say finishing my eggs,I put my fork down since I was full.
"You done?" He asks leaning back in the booth, spreading his legs to get comfortable.
"Yeah,I want a to go plate for the rest of my bacon and waffle though." I say watching him nod,He gets up getting a to go plate for me. I thank him putting my waffle and bacon in the box.
"Watchu doing?" Rakim asks me looking at me like I was crazy since I pulled my credit card out of my wallet.
"What I'm paying for my food." I chuckled
"Nah, the hell I look like letting you pay for yo food when I'm the one who asked out." He shakes his head getting up to go pay for our food. I wait for him in the booth, not wanting to be rude.
"You ready?" He says tucking remaining cash back into his wallet. He holds out his hand, I look down at it before grabbing it. He pulls me up from the bench, letting go of my hand. He opens the door for me letting me go out first.
"Thank you for taking me out for Breakfast." I say smiling as we walked to my car.
"You welcome, you gonna let me know when you in Atlanta so we can link up. I'm moving downtown." He says holding the driver side door open for me.
"Yeah, it was great to see you again Rakim." I say getting in my car,He smirks closing my door for me.
