No More Love

"You broke my heart. But I still love you with all the little pieces."

~~ Unknown source

Love is but fickle, my love. For we were young and blind when we met, and the flowers you gave me stayed fresh and watered on my old school desk back home.

But love is only an illusion, dear love. We were too focused on a dream to notice the fog that blurred our dull faces.

Oh love is no fairytale, darling. It is a cold grasp around the neck, and we've been throttling each other for twenty-two years now. I am done with the dirty water in the sink.

Love exists in us all, but we have used it wrongly, for never were you my prince, nor was I your princess.

My love for you exists in a wide expanse, deep, dark, and lonely. It has fallen into a void and wishes never to return. I know it never will.

Oh, but how the children wail, they cry for a lost childhood. For the missed opportunities and picture perfect ideal.

Love is but fickle, my love, just look at this mess. I pray you find another who loves you more than I ever could.
