Happy reading!! :))

Have you ever been in such a painfully awkward situation, that you wish the earth would swallow you whole?
I was feeling that right now,
I was currently walking towards the man who I had the pleasure of meeting this morning. We had already engaged in eye contact, he knew that I was serving him. Out of all the possible people who could have come to this café today, it had to be him. What is he even doing here? Isn't he too fancy to be drinking coffee here? OUR coffee.
I walked towards his table keeping my gaze to the floor. How hard could this be?
Come on Rose! You've got this! You've worked here for years! Just give him the coffee and leave.
'So are you just going to stand there, or give me my coffee?' I looked up to him before quickly scanning my surroundings, I was already at his table, It's not to late to salvage this!!
I looked at him and smiled brightly ' Here you go sir, is there anything else that you would like today?'' He looked me up and down before shaking his head. I nodded curtly 'Have a good day, sir'. I turned to walk away. " You have shoes on'' .
I turned to him, before looking shyly at my feet, Yeah I suppose I do,and you know what? Shoes were made for walking , so goodbye sir' I smirked, and walked away, not wanting to continue the conversation.
It wasn't an insult. It wasn't a dig at him for the way he treated me earlier, it was intended to be a statement, but it came out kind of... sarcastically. I didn't care though, he deserved it!
And although I was proud of my remark, It didn't seem to have the same effect on him , as he was silently chuckling at his table.
I shook my head before continuing to take orders.

He had left 15 minutes later, after curtly looking at his watch, and picking up the vibrating phone on the table before walking out.
And let me tell you, that man has a really nice peachy butt.
Okay that was creepy.
I had recently started making a two latte's and brioche buns (With extra jam and cream!)for one of my usual customers, Doris. She was a petite lady in her late sixties. Every morning she would come into the café and ask for something completely different from what she had the previous day. She'd walk in , with her curly grey hair bouncing on her shoulders and asked for me to serve her in particular.
Yeah, me and Doris are tight.
She had approached me rather quickly after ushering her male friend to her regular table by the window. She told me what they wanted and explained that it had to be made to utter perfection because she was convinced, that she had infact, found the one.
I just laughed.
After making her order I walked over quietly, watching the scene in front of me , Doris was laughing, with a slight blush on her cheeks, and the man was grinning at her, enjoying her embarrassment.
I started setting the latte's down. " Ed! This is the girl I was telling you about!'' She flailing her arms about. He chuckled before turning to me , ''So your the famous Rosella huh? Edward's the name, its a pleasure to meet you''
I tore my gaze away from the brioche I was trying so hard not to drop, and turned my gaze to him, "It's lovely too meet you too Edward'
I decided that was enough conversing, and that I should let them get on with their date. I do hope it works out for them, Doris deserves to be happy.

I continued to serve and take orders throughout the day.
Although my day had started off terribly, it had improved as I went along. I even met this adorable little dog who was brought into the café as he was his owners guide dog.
I may or may not have thrown him pieces of meat every now and then. Ok it was worth it, i have no regrets.
And on top of it all Casey offered my a lift home. Score one for Rosella.
I never told Casey about my relationship problems. I didn't want to burden her, she was so incredibly sweet that I knew she'd take action. And i couldn't have that. She was under the impression that he was a loving boyfriend who treated me amazingly. I felt bad lying to her, but i couldn't risk him hurting her in fear that she'd tell the police.
We were currently in her car right now.
'So anyway, I slapped her because nobody offends our lord and saviour Brendon Urie''
I laughed ' Wait... you mean to tell me , you slapped her because she said his music...wasn't good' I could barely control my giggles at this point.
She joined in laughing, 'Well she deserved it, she knew what she was getting into the moment she said it' She looked both ways before continuing to drive ' So anyway... How's Romeo?''
My laughing instantly stopped, 'He's okay I guess, he umm... works a lot so I don't see him all of the time' . I sucked in a breath.
She eyed me sceptically ' Okay is all you have to say! Babe you share an apartment , tell me how's your sex life? OMG IS HE BIG, MAMA NEEDS DETAIL-"
I shoved my hands over my face to hide my flushed cheeks ,"Oh God Casey! You cant ask things like that!" I averted my eyes towards the window, trying to find anything to distract me. We never, engage in that activity. I gave him everything, all of me. But once I saw his true colours, I promised myself that I would never let him touch me again. It's the only slight bit of dignity I have left.
She chuckled lightly before looking left and right, trying to see if any cars were coming, or if she was good to turn left, 'Whatever gurlllll - you're just in denial, I bet he's huge!''
Needless to say, I ignored her for the rest of the drive.
Once we arrived to my apartment It dawned on me how the place I used to cherish, which was filled with excitement and promise, now held a dull and meaningless presence, a home is only a home if you make it one. And for me , that never happened.
'You okay there Rosie'
I shook my head, banishing the thoughts away before plastering a smile on my face, ' Yeah just daydreaming, you know how I get'' I laughed slightly , she was always commenting on my lack of concentration and how I was easily prone to zoning out , it had kind of become an inside joke of ours, ''Want to come in for some tea? Or coffee?''
She briefly considered it before sighing heavily ' Nahh I cant, I have a wife at home who's on her period, lord only knows how pissed she'll be if I get home late, I promised to get her ice cream'
I smiled softly, I had always loved the idea of romance. Being treasured by somebody who only has eyes for you, she was lucky enough to have found that, and I couldn't deny that I was happy for her, they made a great couple. ' Well then we cant keep Liz waiting, say hi to her from me , ok?"
She sighed once again before jokingly praying to god for luck ' Will do , See ya Rosie'
I watched as she pulled off of the curb in front of my apartment, waving frantically, You know, in case she missed the first couple of waves, before turning around and walking to 'my romeo'.
