I hope," he paused for a moment I could hear through the speaker that he took a deep shaky breath, "I hope you're happy." And that was it. The message ended. His voice gone. I promised myself that I wouldn't call him that I would stay out of touch with him. This was the moment, the moment when I realized that I had the love of a lifetime and I let him get away.
