(Leina Jane pov)
My dad called me into the living room where I found him filling out papers, like usual. "So Leina, I have a very important meeting tomorrow and I'll need you to come with me because you don't have school tomorrow." he stated, as I stared at him in disbelief.
"But dad I'm 17! I can stay by myself for a few hours!" I argued back, determined to win the ridicules fight we were having. "No you can't Leina! Last time I left you alone you almost burnt the damn house down! So no Leina you are not staying home!!" he yelled. I looked at him and then ran back to my room slamming the door. "DON'T SLAM THE DAMN DOOR ELEINA JANE" I heard him yell from downstairs. Oh how I hated when he called me that. I plopped myself onto my bed and pulled out my phone. "New picture message from"Cal" I rolled my eyes and laughed at the funny photo he sent me, along with the text "I miss you Elle" I smiled. "Miss you too Cal" Calum is my best friend. He was currently in North America while I was stuck in shitty old Sydney Australia. I suddenly got really hungry and walked downstairs into the kitchen, and smiled as the familiar scent of vanilla filled my nostrils. I walked to the pantry and grabbed a bag of chips. I went to the living room and turned on the TV and flipped through the channels before finally deciding on watching a Disney movie.
It got late so I went up to my room and got into bed and fell into a deep dreamless sleep. My dad woke me up reminding me that I had to get ready to go to work with him today. I got up, took a shower, dried my hair, and picked out my outfit, I decided on a pastel pink crop top and some ripped skinny jeans. We walked out the door and he drove to the boring building. As we approached the overly large building I looked up from my phone and saw that there were a lot of kids my age. A thought popped into my head "it must be bring your child to work day" I thought, did they even do that anymore? As we walked into the building, pushing through the heavy, glass doors I bumped into a boy who looked about 19 or 20. "Sorry" I squeaked out, embarrassed. "It's quite alright love" the mystery man said with his sexy british accent. My eyes trailed up from my feet to his beautiful baby blue eyes. "I'm Colby" he said. I stood there, mouth agape. "And you are?" he chuckled. "Oh uh I'm Eleina, but everybody calls me Leina" I spoke softly. "Beautiful name for a beautiful girl" he said and I blushed at his words. "I best be on my way, but hopefully I'll see you again" he added. "Yeah uh hopefully" I agreed. My dad walked in and showed me up to his office, and around the building. His assistant walked into the room, "sorry for barging in here Mr. Taylors but it seems the copying machine has stopped working in the lobby" he rushed out. It was Colby. Colby was his assistant.
My dad sighed as he walked to the elevator and went to the first floor. All that was running through my head was "I'm in the same room as Colby" he reached out and grabbed my shoulder, turning me around to face him. he slipped something in the back pocket of my jeans, he winked at me. "Call me" he smirked as my dad walked back into the room. "The copying machine is working fine Colby" he said, obviously annoyed. "sorry Mr. Taylors they must've fixed it" he said, walking out of the room. "Have you heard from Calum lately?" he asked. My dad always liked Calum. He was like a brother to me. "Yeah he texted me earlier" I said. He looked up at me "Maybe when he comes back we could have him round for dinner" my dad suggested. "Yeah!" I smiled. "I can't wait for him to come back" I said excitedly. "Only 24 days left" I said. "Well I have to get back to work Leina" he said. I walked down the stairs and looked for Colby. I found him leaning up against the brick wall with a joint between his lips. I stared "boy was he hot" she thought. He beckoned her over and placed the joint between her lips. She breathed in the smoke holding it in her lungs for a bit then exhaling. Colby looked at her and smiled. "I knew you weren't that innocent"
