Emma

She followed Cole down the poorly lit streets to the part of town she wasn't allowed to be in. Everyone warned her too stay back, another rule broken. She no longer cared that she was going to bad places with bad people, the only thing she was concerned about was how much she could do and see before the sun came up. She wanted to do all of the things that everyone forbid her from doing to see if they it was really all that bad.

At last they arrived at a little store front with neon lights. It looked closed but when Cole turned the handle to the door it was unlocked. She could feel faint vibrations in the room and soft sounds of music. Cole pushed forward and she followed, eager to see what awaited them in the next room. Right in front of the door was a large man but upon seeing Cole he stepped aside and opened the door. A blast of sound, lights, and voices hit her all at once. she felt a bit faint but Cole kept pushing forward so she followed.

He pushed through the crowd not stopping once to see if she got lost, she felt a bit abandoned but it was nothing new. After pushing through throngs of sweaty dancers did they reach the. Cole ordered some drinks she had never heard of and never dreamed of trying. Anticipation was coursing through her and she felt almost high off of the energy. When the drinks came she began to realize what really losing control was.

Cole offered her a horrible tasting liquid (which she assumed was alcohol) in a small cup. She drank it quickly and he offered her another. He was smiling after he downed his own and moved on to a second and third like her. She could feel her cheeks flushing, perhaps from the drink and maybe because of him. She also felt more dizzy and when she tried to walk a little she collided with him.

He laughed. "A little light weight I see"

She had no idea what that meant but she suddenly had a strong urge to dance. She pulled herself closer to and began pulling him to the dance floor as best she could. He smiled again and followed her into the throng of people.

They pressed together in the sea of dancers. Everything was blurry and loud and bright and hot. She was losing sight of him, of her surroundings. It was a blur of colors and there a deafening pounding in her ears. Black slowly engulfed her vision and she fainted. Just before passing out she mumbled

"This is why you don't break the rules". Strong arms lifted her up and slipped into darkness.
