Maya's POV

I finished my shift at work and I headed home. The subway was packed full of people and I just sat there quietly. When I got home my parents were making dinner and Riley was working on homework with Farkle.

"Hey everyone," I said dropping my book bag.

"Maya hang your bag up," my mom said pointing to my book bag.

"How was work," my dad asked.

I hung my book bag up, "Oh you know same old same old."

"Is dinner almost ready?" Riley asked.

"Yeah," my mom said, "Farkle are you staying for dinner?"

"Sure," Farkle said.

Riley smiled, "We should probably clean off the table."

Farkle and Riley began to clean off the table and Auggie can running out.

"Hey little dude," I said.

"Hey dude," Auggie said.

"Hey dudes," my mom said, "Why don't you help us set the table."

"Mom it's not cool when you do it," Auggie said making everyone laugh.

"Hey I'm cool," she said.

"Sorry mom but your not," Riley said grabbing plates and setting the table.

"I think your cool Mrs. Matthews," Farkle said.

"I knew I liked you," my mom said hugging him.

We all ate dinner together and had small talk over things that happened at school. I was getting ready for bed when I heard a thing go off on my laptop.

A message popped up from Lucas.

(Maya, Lucas)

Hey let's go to the dance

Hey let's not and say we didn't

I can tell you want me

No actually I don't

No actually you do

Get this through your head I will never go out with you.

Never say never

I wouldn't date you even if you were the last guy on the planet

Good thing I'm not the last guy on the planet

I'm leaving now

Think about it

Okay still no

You and I

No

Think about it

Goodbye Lucas

I shut my laptop and Riley walked in.

"Who were you just talking to?" Riley asked sitting on my bed.

"Lucas was trying to talk to me but I didn't want to talk to him," I said.

"His dangerous," Riley said.

"I know that," I said sitting up.

"If he found out our secret his family would try to kill us," Riley said.

"He's never going to find out," I said.

"Promise?" she said.

"Promise," I said, "But even if he found out we could just erase his memory."

"He might regain his memory if his parents ask him about wizards."

"Oh."

"Just don't let him see you use magic."

"I don't plan on seeing him in general."

"Well whenever just don't get caught," Riley said walking out into my room.
