Unravel Me

Chapter 2 : new beginnings

        I take out my headphones when I faintly hear the pilot speak into the microphone on the plane. I did as they said and soon enough we landed. I exited the plane when it was time and got a trolley as I waited for my suitcases. My Mum told me that my dad was going to pick me up from car park.

Once I put all my suitcases on the trolley I pushed it toward animal collection and straight away saw Fiji  sitting in his cage. He started barking when he saw me. I hand in paper and signed a few and then took him out of the cage.

"Thank you" I said to the people who worked there. They nodded in response. "Fiji. Up" I said while patting my suitcases and he jumped up and I pushed the trolley out to the car park. I sat on a bench and waited for my dad to come.

After about 5 minutes a car pulled and my dad got out.

"Hey, sorry I was late, traffic was bad" he said giving me a side hug.

"That's ok" I said returning his hug.

"Ok let's get going then" he said while putting my suitcases in the car. "Hey buddy" he said while patting Fiji. He opened the door for Fiji to get in the back seat while I got in the front. My dad got in and we drive for a few minutes in silence.

I don't hate my dad we just aren't close because he moved across the country to be with another woman. I wasn't mad or sad about my parents splitting but I did miss my dad some times. I guess living with him will be different.

"So we had a spare room and it has a bed and drawers in it but it's pretty bare. Rose said she'll take you shopping to get a few things to decorate it." He said. Rose was his new wife. She's a really nice lady and is quite wealthy being a well know fashion designer.

"Ok sounds good" I say back. I don't complain about many things or really talk that much at all. "When will I be starting school?" I asked.

"You'll start Monday next week, but first let's just get you settled in." He says quickly looking over at me. "There's a launch party for Roses friend that is on Saturday night. Aurelia said that she's going shopping for a dress tomorrow or whatever you girls do"

"Ok" I say yawning. "How long until we get to the house?"

"Another 10 minutes" he replied. I nodded in response. "So how's your mother?"

"She been well... Mum. Still as stubborn as ever. She didn't tell me I was moving until last night so I'm not the happiest person right now. But I'm worried about her because I don't want her living alone."

"She didn't tell you until last night?! Geez that's harsh." My dad says sighing.

"I know" I sigh. We sit in silence the rest of the way until we pull up to the house. It was an off white, two story house with a very neat garden.

"We're here" my dad says getting out to start getting my suitcases. He grabs two while I let Fiji out and grab the last bag.

I call Fiji as we walk into the house. He comes running up and I put him on his lead so he doesn't destroy the house. I doubt he would as he is the best trained dog I know but I don't want to start on bad terms.

"Jason! Is that you?" I hear Rose call as she walks toward us. She was wearing a pastel pink jumpsuit with a band that makes the pants look high waisted with nude heels.
