3am Thoughts: A Dyshen/Diyue One Shots

Everything needed balance.

A little bit too much of something could lead to disproportion and when it starts to get disproportionate for a long time, it gets hard to chase back which one was lacking or which was exceeding. When things get too intense, people tend to be riled up on one's emotions that's why for Shen Yue it's always good to keep a good balance at bay. Sure it might be boring for some but aiming for parity is the biggest challenge that was hard to master.

Like this cake that she was baking for her boyfriend's upcoming 25th birthday. Where each measurements has to be accurate in order for the ingredients to work together. When you go over than the desired amount of an ingredient, you get the higher risk for the cake to not rise up or it would mess up the moisture and nobody wants a dry cake. Especially her boyfriend.

While she continued on measuring each ingredient carefully, she couldn't help but reminisce how in the earlier years of their relationship, she thought the key for a relationship to work was to keep their love alive by receiving grand efforts one would give. Both of them won't be to able to count on how many times they 'overly measured' or 'miscalculated' certain relationship challenges. This relationship always felt like being on tightrope, or riding a unicycle that one careless mistake could led to the both them in a serious injury. But as they both matured, they discovered that the recipe for a great and cohesive relationship was balance.  Knowing how to do that while holding each other's hands and when to hold on tighter when one starts to loosen its grip. Knowing each other's temperature and what to do to neutralise it was the key. Maybe that was how their term of endearment to each other recently came about (well, aside from calling each other 'bud' which was short for buddies, in public to avoid their relationship to be questioned). Dylan calls Yue his Yin while Yue calls Dylan her Yang. A famous philosophy in Chinese which meant that two contrary forces complementing and balancing out each other.

Getting distracted with her accidental trip down the memory lane, a voluptuous amount of milk started to spill out of the measuring cup. Shaking her head, this reminded her of one of the key issues they had upon deciding to be together.

And that certain issue was her boyfriend's possessiveness. Dylan Wang was the most caring boyfriend you could ever find. He likes cuddles. Lots of it. He was also very giving and generous to his peers. But not when it comes to her. He craves for her attention all the time. If she shifts her attention to other males, that's where the grumpy tiger comes out. Yes, her boyfriend was a big baby. He once shared with her that even before, while he was growing up, when his parents would start to give attention to his cousins he would end up being all sour about it. He knows it's wrong and he hated feeling jealous. He even knows how ridiculous he looked like whenever he gets jealous. He would end up giving her a certain type of look. A look that only she could only understand. Actually, you guys had probably seen it multiple times now. It was when his eyes lours at her and would not fully open. It's usually accompanied with a tight lip. Does that ring a bell? Yes that look. When that look of his comes out she knew that it is translated as trouble. She was sure that fans has witnessed many of his jealous moments ..you know those that were caught on camera. He was transparent like that. Masking emotions does not exist in his world. She laughed upon remembering in the earlier dating days and probably the most ridiculous one yet.

It was during The Inn days when the power supply died that night that they had to stop filming for awhile. Yue being her friendly self, suggested for the four of them to play catch with the ball in order to kill time. She was teamed up with Kido while he was teamed up with Wu Yi. At first he joined along the fun but when he saw that Yue was getting closer than usual to her team mate, the sour bean Dylan came out of his cupboard. She got so engrossed with the game that she did not notice his infamous look.
