After about an hour on the river, I had found a large tree trunk, which I had clung to. I was going to get sick being this long in the river, but I had to go far away.... Occasionally, I had heard howls while I was on the river, which I could only assume they were trying to follow me. Shivering, I whimpered softly as the cold seeped even deeper into my body. Sleepily turning my head, looking at the far bank. Swallowing, I slid off the trunk, nearly sinking. Forcing my legs to move, I fought the water as I swam towards the bank.
Crawling on it, I collapsed, gasping softly. Shivering, I whimpered, looking at my soaked paws. Trying to stand, I felt the water pooling off of me, running down back into the water. Lifting my head, I couldn't even muster a growl as I heard a howl. Shivering, I nervously cast my glance over my shoulder, tensing as I saw a large group on the opposite side, the male from before at the front.
Hauling my ass up, I shook my fur before starting off in a trot. The river washed my scent, so... I should be fine soon.. If they cross the river... Flinching at the sound of splashing, I started running, despite being unable to feel my paws. Panting, I narrowed my eyes, dodging bushes and snow piles. Panting, I looked around. My pelt was clean, and I had no scent... Pouncing on large snow piles, I made holes and indents, before filling them back up. After repeating for a couple more snow piles, I finally chose one to bury myself in. Curling up, having my back face the filled in entrance, I quietly held my breath.
Shivering, I flinched as I heard paw steps rush past. I had hidden in the nick of time... Flattening my ears, I shuddered as slower, heavier footsteps passed. After what felt like hours, three, even heavier and slower footsteps approached, two passing, before stopping.
I held my breath, curling my sopping tail closer as I shivered. I squeezed my eyes shut, full body tensing as I felt the snow above me shift. I arched, letting out a sharp cry when claws suddenly connected with my back. I scrambled out, trying to get away, only to be pounced on and pinned by one of the wolves. I let out an angered whimper, squirming. But being soaked to the bone and freezing, I didn't have much energy... Trying to claw at the underbelly of the male pinning me, I yelped when I felt teeth graze my throat.
So this is how it is... I get killed like this, soaking wet, at the mercy of these bastards... Snarling, I went lax, but refused to show submissiveness. I continued to glare up at the male as he glared down, bristling.
Suddenly, the male stepped off, craning his neck to the massive male, hackles still raised. I scrambled up, but nearly went down again with the weight on my ankle. I growled, spitting out,
"What. Do. You. Want."
"Don't talk to him like that!" One of the males snapped, his fur rising. If my fur wasn't sopping wet, my hackles would've raised at his words,
"Down, Alex." The male's deep voice shook me to the core, but I held my ground, continuing to growl. At least I had an excuse for the shiver that his voice caused. "Look, whatever your name is. Running has only made your situation worse. Come with us peacefully, or we'll have to do this the hard way." Despite his words, it made me a little... shaken upon hearing the sincerity in his voice. He actually sounded like he didn't want to hurt me...
Growling, I spat out, "No way in hell I'm going with any of you voluntarily." I pretty much just sealed my fate with that sentence. Before I could even react, I was picked up by my scruff, which was so embarrassing, might I add. Squirming, I screamed curses and profanities at the large male, trying to get my back claws to connect to his chest, with no avail.
"Give it up little girl," He growled down at me, slightly digging his teeth in, "I'm too big for you." I snarled, still trying to get free. I flinched upon hearing even more footsteps join us, before a shudder went through me as we, more like my captor and his fucking pack, started moving, and the wind chilled my soaked bones. I blinked when the male lightly tucked his chin, letting my back brush against his chest hairs. He was wet, as well, but not soaked like I was. Knowing I was going to regret this later, I let him have his stupid attempt at warming me up, mulling over a plan to escape.
I could go limp... But they might think I just passed out and keep moving... Struggling would do nothing, as I've already proven, and neither would screaming.. Squeezing my eyes closed, breath hitching slightly. Fuck... Fuck fuck fuck....
"This is nothing personal, you know.." The deep voice rumbled out in my head, and all I could respond with was a weak, empty growl. I let my head roll, watching the never ending snow. My tail was only slightly brushing against the very tip of the snow. My ears perked up, and I tensed upon hearing the roar of the river. Starting to squirm again, I growled and whimpered slightly. I just got out of that!
Of course, my struggles were of no use, as the male just stepped into the water, waiting as some of his pack trotted in, before following them. Growling, I shuddered as water engulfed the tip of my tail. The male ignored me, still able to stand at a point where I would normally be swimming. Due to how friggin cold it was, I almost didn't notice the subtle shift of his head. At least he was fucking kind enough to make sure I didn't drown... Growling, I glared at my reflection in the freezing water.
"Alpha! Alpha Kain, look out!" The voice had cried out too late, as when both of us looked up, the chunk of ice and water was already upon us. The ice hit the male hard in the side, knocking both of us under water. Gasping and choking, I was quick to realize the male had released me, either due to shock, falling unconscious or not needing me to drown with him. Holding my breath, I started kicking my feet to get away. I heard the panicked whimpers and cries of the male's pack, which I chose to ignore. This was my chance!
Finally surfacing farther away, I gasped out, body aching. I kicked my paws, glancing back. The whole pack was hauling out a barely conscious male, all mostly unaware that I was gone. Taking this opportunity, I dove into the forest and snow, shivering and shaking. I had to find shelter, and hopefully a town... I needed to continue on human foot...

A/N;
Ayyye two chapters in one day, not bad! I'm sorry if these seem short, as I said before, I'm trying so hard not to rush, so... if these seem short... Short chapters it is! After I get the first couple of chapters up, I think I'm gonna update every other Wednesday, seeing as I have work and school, plus college stuff coming up!
Annnd two escapes in two hours? How smart is Nix? Okay, the second time was pure luck, but, yk... Do you think she'll get to a town, or find some shelter? Being in that frigid water for so long isn't healthy....
