Okay so this was my first tragedy. I have always been fascinated with the concept. To be able to write something so beautifully, only to let it die at the end. The pain and sorrow that lays within the words "goodbye".
I unfortunately have a deeper understanding than others however. Which is a blessing and a curse. I am able to truly know and understand on a deeper level what it means to give someone your soul, without having experienced it once in my life.
This one-shot started out after I've read "Just one more day" by jiminfication (you should really check out the stories, they're truly amazing). The story shook me pretty hard. Because loving someone to the point of feeling the connection between you're souls, and then have them leaving you, willingly or not, hurts more than anything. And even after all that, tragedy fascinates me.
Next I want to say is that halfway in the story, small appearces of the 3-episode series "Hymn of Death" are shown. I've finished watching it yesterday and I felt like now was the perfect time to finish this story.
----------------------------------------------
"Hymn of Death" explanation"Hymn of Death" ( also known as "Praise of Death") is a true story that happened around 1926 in Korea. A woman called Yun Dim-Deok, who is the first soprano of her time, falls in love with the stage drama writer Kim Woo-Jin. Even though he is already wed, their love blossoms. Along the way they face unbearable difficulties. They make up their mind. They we're going to rest together.
So after Yun Sim-Deok finishes her recording in Osaka to be able to pay for her brothers education the States, she is supposed to go back home with her sister, who went with her to accompany her on the piano. But she tells her sister to go ahead without her, and to give her mom the money she left behind. All the while Kim Woo-Jin left his father's business, and ran away from home.
They meet each other and step on the boat that's departing at the docks. Into the evening Kim Woo-Jin writes his last letter and they both walk up to the deck. They place their shoes neatly next to each other in front of the railing and have their last dance. After that they finally found peace and went to rest side by side.
----------------------------------------------You can watch this drama on Netflix to get a more in depth view (please do, it is truly worth it).
You will obviously see that some points are the same. Though I decided to let Taehyung leave first, since it seemed like the best way to go. I really bawled my eyes out writing this and was seriously wondering to myself why I was hurting myself so bad. But in the end I'm proud of the outcome.
In this story Taehyung wrote the book "Hymn of Death". He wrote his life in a historical point of view. The woman in his story was the woman he was destined to meet and fall in love with. That's why he could buy the book at the library so easily. He portraited his failures and hardships in a tragical love romance, with his pain and sorrow as the reason for their death in the end. He knew that the woman he would fall in love with would chose to follow him in the same steps he left in. He wrote his death and decided the day the same day he would die in the book. On coincidence that was also the day you told him you loved him. That's why he said that even though he wanted to hold you forever, his future was already decided. He wanted you to know that in the last moments of his life, only you were on his mind, and he quietly whispered you goodbye to the sea, while you were in a deep slumber back in the room. That's how he left peacefully.
I know I have a few silent readers, which is completely fine, but if you could, would you please tell me what you thought of the story? That would really mean a lot to me💜
I want to give full credit for my idea to Jiminfication and "Hymn of Death", without Jiminfication I would have never even started this, and without "Hymn of Death" it would have never ended the way it did.
So thank you to my readers and I am wondering if you would like more one-shots, and which genre you would like.
I could also do a BTS ship story, whether it takes place in a kingdom, ocean, woods or a world full of magic, it would be my pleasure to try and fullfill some of you're wishes💜💜
I'll see you in the next one and I hope you enjoyed this story.
Much love,
Author~nim
