Chapter 7: Doubt

      It has been a little less than a month since they were in the hospital and a week since both Bakugo and Kirishima left the hospital. However, things weren't the same since. Bakugo kept avoiding Kirishima; after his confession, it left Bakugo feeling uncomfortable around Kirishima. He needed time to think. However, this made Kirishima uncomfortable about who he is and he started showing up less and less to work. This worried Bakugo, worried him a lot, but he didn't have the guts to suddenly go talk to him after avoiding him for so long.

He was pacing back and forth in the hero lounge/ waiting room until Iida showed up. Well he was observing Bakugo from a bit further and was worrying about him. He couldn't handle it any longer so he sighed and walked towards the window where the blonde hedgehog kept on pacing back and forth.
"Bakugo what's up with you? You and Kirishima have been acting weird ever since you guys left the hospital. Would you like to talk about it?" Asked Iida, concerned.

Bakugo stopped in surprise. He didn't see Iida and was a bit startled, but he quickly composed himself and replied," It's none of your damn business Sonic! What goes on between us has nothing to do with you, you understand?!"

Iida wasn't surprised by the way he replied. It was typical for him to reply in this manner. He's a lone wolf. He's always been one. He's not the type of person to let others help him with his problems. However, this time it was different. Iida, so as anyone else, never usually tries to convince Bakugo to confess his problems but this time, he felt like he had to.

"Bakugo please, Kirishima hasn't shown up to work at all today, and hasn't been doing well mentally ever since you guys left the hospital," Iida explained to Bakugo," He doesn't want to talk to anyone anymore, we've tried contacting him dozens of times but we got no reply from him. Bakugo, you're the only one who knows what happened. Please tell me! For his sake."

There was a long and dreadful silence that filled the room. Bakugo didn't move even a muscle. It didn't even look like he even blinked once. But when he moved, he walked towards the couch and motioned Iida to follow him and sit down.

Iida sighed in relief about how Bakugo hasn't tried to blow his face off. Looks like he made some progress in his temper outbreaks.

Both heroes sat down on the two facing couches and faced eachother. Bakugo leaned back and crossed his arms, tilted his head down. While Iida, being the type of guy he is, sat up as straight as a stick, keeping his back as straight as it can be.

"So, you really want to know what's up with Red Head?" asked Bakugo.

Iida nodded, his glasses reflecting the light from the window

"When we were in the hospital, Kirishima...... Kirishima confessed to me that... that he liked me—" Bakugo started, abruptly stopping, waiting for Iida's response.

Iida didn't reply and Bakugo noticed that he was waiting for Bakugo to continue.

"– He told me he liked me since the end of our first year at UA. At first I thought he was just saying these things because he was probably delusional, but he meant what he said and ever since then, I've been avoiding him. Not knowing what to do. Not knowing what to reply from his confession," Bakugo finished.

"He.. likes you?" Iida repeated.

Bakugo simply nodded.

"Do you like him back?" Iida asked.

Bakugo didn't reply, he didn't know what to reply. He could've shrugged in sign of 'i don't know' but instead said verbally," I-I don't know, I don't know what feel or what to think anymore. I don't want to say that I don't want to be with him. I don't want to break his heart. I mean, he's been my best friend ever since... ever since the start of UA. I don't want our friendship to be awkward. Especially knowing that he's gay–" Bakugo was abruptly interrupted by Iida correcting him.

"Pan. He's pansexual," corrected Iida.

"Whatever, same thing. He likes guys, that's basically what I'm trying to– Wait how did you know?!" Asked Bakugo shocked.

"That's not important. What I want to know is do you like guys?" Asked Iida, his eyes locked onto Bakugo's crimson red eyes that dimly shined under the bright ceiling light.

Bakugo was surprised at Iida's question and took some time to answer. He sat there, trying to think of a way to avoid answering the question but Iida's eyes, like eyes of a lion, pressured him to answer or he would attack him.

" I've never really asked myself that question, to be honest. I've never liked anyone before, neither a guy or a girl. I don't know how to feel about romance," replied Bakugo.
    
     "But, do you see yourself in a relationship with Kirishima? Would you 'like' to see yourself in a relationship with Kirishima?" Asked Iida.

      "I-," Bakugo thought," I guess so, yes. He's been there for me."

"Well there we go then. Tell him how you feel," concluded Iida.

"WHAT?! I don't even know if I like him I told you!" Replied Bakugo, pointing his point across, again.

"If you didn't like him, you wouldn't doubt yourself or your feelings, would you?" pointed out Iida, pushing his glasses back up on top of his nose.

Iida's statement left Bakugo speechless. He didn't have anything as a comeback so he just sat there, clenching his fists.

There was silence in the room before the rustling of Iida's suit broke it while he sat up.

"Well, I guess that's my job done. I'm leaving you there to think about it alright? Oh and don't worry, I won't tell anyone about our conversation. I'll see you later Bakugo," Iida said as he disappeared behind the wall.

So Bakugo was left there, alone with his thoughts. Thoughts that were more like foggy and un-memerable ideas and sprinted across his mind. Too fast to process.
