Volleyball

I was breathing heavy. I was sweating. I was nervous.

This is the last game of the season and if we win, we are going to the championships. I was the captain of the team so the girls were all relying on me. I had no clue what to say. I looked around the locker room and stared at every teammate around me. 

"Alright girls if we are going to win this, we have to be able to work as a team. We have to make sure to do a great job at this because the team we are going against has been training as hard as we have. We will win as a team or lose as a team. Try your best and try not to screw it up because then everyone will be mad at you," I chuckled. 

The girls looked nervous as well as excited. All their friends and family were there. 

I wished Manu was here. He would've told me that I would do a great job and cheer me on, I thought. 

I lost my train of thought when I started to hear the girls giggling. I scrunched my eyebrows together trying to figure out what was so funny. A voice spoke out loud and my heart skipped a beat. 

"Well, are you just going to stand there and look surprised or are you going to hug your gorgeous boyfriend?" 

I whirled around and was met with the beautiful eyes that I have fallen in love with. I shot him a goofy smile and ran into his outstretched arms. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. I inhaled his familiar scent and looked at him. I kissed him with all the passion and love that I had. The best part about the whole thing was the fact that he returned the same love and passion that I had given him. He lowered me down and smiled. 

"You better go and win that game babygirl." 

"You know I will! Why else do you think I am the team captain," I winked. 

We walked out of the locker room and I got into my position. I stared at Manu as he walked to the bleachers. He grabbed something from a friend and unfolded it. Once it was stretched out I could read the big, bright and hilarious letters that were written on it. 

(Y/N), YOU ARE AMAZING AND CAN DO THIS. I DID NOT TRAVEL ALL THIS WAY TO SEE YOU LOSE. BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ALWAYS A WINNER IN MY EYES AND AS LONG AS YOU HAVE FUN, I DON'T CARE. LOVE YA, DORK"

I smiled and focused on getting this championship won. Because I knew I could do it.
