“I’m sorry.” Those were the only words she uttered upon hearing the reason of Andrew.
Napatungo siya. She cannot look to Andrew out of shyness. She just cannot face Andrew’s worried face and eyes.
Andrew on the other side was wondering. He cannot determine why the girl in front of him was saying sorry where he was the one who was sorry about what happened.
He gulped. “Bakit ka nagso-sorry? I mean, you shouldn’t say sorry because if there’s one who must be sorry, that’s me, Serenity.”
All he knew was that the girl’s voice was monotone and it was very. . . very low to the point that if the surrounding’s noise was loud, he wouldn’t be able to hear it.
That way, he’d see her regretful face.
“Don’t be sorry, okay?” he mumbled in front of her.
He smiled. “All the words you have said to me back then were fine. I deserved it so don’t be sorry, okay?
“I still want to say sorry because I didn’t give you a chance to explain your side. I was indecisive that time. I even ignored you. I hurt you—”
“Stop now, okay? It was okay. What matters now is that you heard my side.”
“Okay,” she answered. She was still with a sorry face. “Bati na ba tayo?” she asked in a pabebe tone. It was not so normal of her.
“Hmm.” Andrew nodded. “I don’t want to see you with a sad face so smile now. You are beyond beautiful when you are smiling.”
“Ehh,” parang bata na ani Serenity. “Gusto ko pa ring mag-sorry.”
“Sige.
Serenity’s eyes widened. “Really?” she asked.
She then chuckled. Her mood was light already. Who wouldn’t be? It won’t be a problem for her anymore to act like she didn’t know him.
“You’re insane,” Andrew said after a gulp.
Andrew would win to Serenity when it comes to chess but in this field, it was Serenity’s game to play.
Andrew cleared his throat.
“Same,” he said almost whispering.
Namilog ang mata ni Serenity. She didn’t saw that coming.
“Ano ‘yon?” she asked like she didn’t hear what the guy just said.
“Wala.
It lasted for only a second.
“I warned you, Serenity. One sorry, one kiss.”
