I resumed school the next Monday, so did Science. Nothing changed in school, except the stares. The news had spread as fast as usual, so Science and I had almost the entire school eyes fixed on us wherever we went to. The triplets kept their eyes on me too, wherever I went to. They didn't let me out if their sight for s second, they became super protective. I didn't like it, but it was kind of really warming and nice, so I didn't protest. Soma had his eyes on Science too.
Break was over, and we were all walking together to our classroom from 'Mama Rasaki's place' - our favorite place to buy and eat thing within our school. We were planning a sleepover at my place the next day, since I was still under probation and my parents won't let me step out. "Who's bringing chin chin?" Aisha asked as we approached the stairs.
Soma scoffed. "Since the question is from one of you guys, it means none of you intend on bringing chin chin, but yet want to eat it, ah," he said with a sigh, and then rounded off, "Then I'll bring it."
They all had cheeky smiles on when he declared he was going to bring it. "We the triplets, have decided we're going to be handling the drinks," Alimah said, when we got to our separation point.
We all laugh at the way she said it, as we parted and made our ways to our classes.
The next class we were having was practical, so students were already heading to the lab. We must be there before our teacher is, Mrs. Dakunle, can be a real pain in a person's life. I also quickly made my way to the class as I grabbed my things for the class and made my way to the laboratory with the triplets.
We were early enough, so I had enough time to take my seat beside John and talk to him, putting my plan into action. "Hey," I said to John with a smile, making his head snap to my direction reflexively.
"Hey," he replied me with a wide smile.
I returned his smile as I asked him, "How are you?"
He chuckled at my question, before saying, "No, how are you?"
"I see what you did there," I said with a smile, and then replied him, "I'm doing pretty well, I guess."
"You're guessing?"
I chuckled. "Yes dear, still a guess," I said with a smile as I placed my ankle on the table as I rested my cheek on the back of my palm, giving me more access to his face and making him slightly uncomfortable.
He inhaled sharply as he chuckled awkwardly, before he said, "So, how do you want to make it fine? Like, how do you want it to be fine?"
I chuckled and shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe, step out a little and make more friends," I said with a fake-real smile, making him return the smile.
John nodded slowly to my words as he inhaled sharply again, before saying, "There's kinda like a student party at Zara's place tonight, you might want to come. It's a way for you to make more friends and step out a little more as you wish."
Knowing what I was doing I asked, "I can come with a friend right?"
He moved uncomfortably in his seat before he said, "It's best you come alone. Friends hinder new friends."
I chuckled and nodded at his words. "Alone it is."
"Yep."
"Don't forget to send me the address," I added as I twirled my pen in between my index and middle fingers, before Mrs. Dakunle walked in.
The class immediately became dead silent. She didn't wait for a second before she dived into our Chemistry practical lesson.
