"Ready?" Adam calls up the stairs as I put on the finishing touches to my outfit.

"Yeah, hold on!" I yell back, fixing my beanie in the mirror.

"I'll be here!"

I look myself up and down in the full-length mirror, smiling at the outfit, knowing it's cute enough to pass for a regular outfit while still being warm.

I run downstairs and see Adam sitting on our gray couch scrolling on his phone, most likely through his instagram feed

I run downstairs and see Adam sitting on our gray couch scrolling on his phone, most likely through his instagram feed.

He looks up once I arrive and beams, eyeing me up and down.

"Well, you sure look like a skater, now I just gotta teach ya how to be one."

After a car ride full of laughter, dancing, and discussions, we finally arrive at the rink. It was a Thursday afternoon, so not many people were there.

"I'll go get our skates, why don't you find us a bench, yeah?" He asks with a smile.

"Sure." I reply, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek.

I used to come to this rink all the time, since my friends are figure skaters.

I've only skated once, and I remember falling nonstop, so I just gave up.

But when you have a hockey boyfriend, you aren't allowed to just 'give up' on learning how to skate.

All the other hockey wives and girlfriends knew how to skate, but I was always the one sitting on the bench watching them carry on and have fun.

However, today was the day that was going to change,,, and I couldn't be more excited.

I pick the bench closest to the ice, just so we could get on quick.

"I got 'em!" He exclaims excitedly, practically bouncing over.

I giggle at his childish ways and watch as he plops down next to me.

"Here you are m'lady." He says, handing me the pair of skates.

"Why thank you kind sir." I reply, grabbing them and slipping them on.

We talk for a bit more before he walks over to my side and grabs my hand.

"Ready?" He asks, looking me up and down.

I nod and squeeze his hand, while we walk out to the actual rink.

My heart beats faster upon the realization that I was about to do this,, like,, actually do this.

He steps on to the ice, but stops when he sees me not moving.

"You alright, love?" He questions, moving right in front of me so others could get on/off.

"Uh,," I trail off, not taking my eyes off the ice.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere." He whispers, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

I flash him a faint smile and nod, grabbing his hands.

"We'll take it slow, don't worry." He reminds me, skating backwards as I step on to the slippery ice.

My shaky legs and my tight grip on his probably aching hands makes me think how bad I probably look.

As if he could read my thoughts, he immediately says, "Hey, it's okay to be shaky, you haven't been here in a while."

I sigh and nod.

"Yeah, you're right."

After talking and skating painstakingly slow, he smiles and stops, watching me knit my eyebrows in confusion.

"See, look, we're already in the middle, that wasn't that bad, was it?"

I take in my surroundings, I guess that really wasn't that bad.

I guess I used this as a sort of ammunition, because before I knew it, I was skating around the rink by myself, even racing him.

When you grow up in Canada, you kinda have to know how to skate, and Adam taught me just that.

A/N: hope it was cute watch out for more and P L E A S E request some!!  See y'all later, ily stay safe
