"Hi, am I right in thinking your Elizabeth, the most powerful fighter in Doranelle?" I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I found my way into this story. This novel that I picked up in the school library that one lunch time I felt a bit more lonely than usual. This novel that began the long term of endless nights re-reading the same enticing story again and again. Reliving each page and word as if I was there. Truth is; I'm here now, only not as I had previously expected or dreamt of.
Elizabeth, the main protagonist of my favourite novel now held a sword at my neck, humbling the previous excitement in my voice. "Is this some kind of a joke Valerie?" She stood tall and mighty; the prime example of female empowerment, for she held dear to her heart all the important values of a strong-willed and brave woman such as her own. However, as she stared at me, her face held a mixture of shock and determination, no doubt, to bring me down.
"Valerie?" That was the name of the cruel and heartless enchantress responsible for the death of many. The villain that they had spent years attempting to apprehend. "You must be mistaken I'm-" Never in a million years did I imagine that meeting my favourite character be like this. That I would be an outcast, an enemy in her eyes.
She glared at me, pushing the sword closer to my neck. "Don't bullshit with me! How dare you step foot in Doranelle! How dare you even show your face!" The beaming sun glistened against her iron armour and loose blonde strands stuck to her forehead in sweat.
I gulped, too scared to even step back. I was an evil to them; the cruel and heartless killer that I had previously read about and despised. It was me. I cursed the universe for giving me the power to even travel to this book in the first place. I was stupid to think that I would have been incarnated as Elizabeth or one of her friends.
"I'm not letting you go this time." At this point a group of people had now gathered to watch, staring at me in a calm fear. Of course being made Valerie in the first place was a pain, but I had come with her powers too, after all this was a fictional realm of magic I now stood in. With the click of my fingers I could kill all the people surrounding me; including Elizabeth. I had to get out, and so why not be in character when I do so.
"I'm afraid not darling." I said, in an daring voice. Her face flared up in anger, and she pulled the sword back in a violent manner. In response, I created a barricade of fire between the two of us, causing her sword to glow red. She dropped it and yelled in pain, jumping back. As she did so, a group of people ran in to the scene, all presumably the characters that I had read about previously and come to love. "I wish I could stay and chat." I said as they came, "But I've places I need to be." They all took out their weapons ready to fight, their familiar faces staring at me with muderous intent. I smiled "Bye, bye, dear." And I clicked my fingers.Heh.
Playing the villain is fun sometimes, you know.
