"You can't do this!" Her voice echoed, bouncing off of the concrete prison walls. "I trusted you!" At this she paused, rethinking her words and her thoughts, her previous decisions and where they got her. She looked around herself, at the cold floor, her tattered clothing and her small hands, handcuffed. That's what she was now. A prisoner. A slave.

"And I suppose," A deep voice answered, "That's arguably where you first went wrong Aaliyah." His shadow loomed over her as she sat alone in the cell; watching him from afar as he began to walk out, his back turned to her. She couldn't see his face, but in that moment she didn't really want to. Her mind already memorized the lines and features that each of his cruel tricks and actions hid behind. She still remembered the scar that cut his right eyebrow in two, and his deep set blue eyes that would often twinkle against his tan skin. His handsome face along with that tall and powerful body was what had attracted her to him in the first place. A "prince", at least that was what they had told her he was.

"I don't understand Alex. Please, I thought that-"

"You thought that I loved you?" There was a chuckle. "My god Aaliyah. You were nothing but a pawn, didn't you know?" Oh how cruel he had become. How his personality had completely flipped. She really did think he was her savior, not her nightmare. "I knew Carlos had his sights set on you, and I took my chance before you could fall for him." He turned around and looked at her. "I tricked you Aaliyah."

She glared at him, unable to stand, to move. "You disgust me, monster."

"Oh please." He bent over and grabbed her cheeks with his left hand. "You should never have gotten yourself involved with the drug lords of Columbia." A tilt to the left, "But you did anyway didn't you." A tilt to the right, "And look where that got you now." There was a small content nod and then he released her from his grasp. He stood up and began his descent back out of the cell. "We shall be engaged tomorrow." He was nothing but a silhouette once again, "And you can bet Carlos will find out and attempt to take you back."

"Don't you dare-"

"But we will be waiting, ready for him when he does."

Aaliyah began to weep silently at this. She really was a fool. "Please."

"Don't worry. You'll have the finest garments waiting for you tomorrow. Just you wait."

Alex stepped out of the room and shut the door behind him leaving her in the cold prison cell, alone and scared.
