The Dovah Shinobi
Chapter Eight
Entrance Exam
Groaning, Yaminah collapsed onto the bed she was given, glaring harshly to the ceiling.
"Clearly we can't trust you yet. Fortunately, this is true for all new members so we have no reason to kill you yet. For now you will stay with Deidara, and will join the missions that he and Sasori accept. Understood?"
With a sigh the girl rose from the bed, ripping the ribbon from her hair and pulling her fingers through as a pitiful attempt to place some order back into the strands. Her eyes briefly flickered down the the ribbon she had dropped onto her bed, a faint smile crossing her lips.
"Momma, you're home!" Dirty blond hair flew behind the small girl as she launched herself at the dovahkiin. Looking down to her adopted daughter Yaminah could feel the grin stretching across her features.
"Hey, Svari. Has Lydia been taking care of you?" Even now the housecarl stood in the doorway to the cottage they had worked together to build.
Svari nodded before Yaminah noticed her hands now held behind her back. "What have you got there, Svari?"
The young girl grinned, holding her hands out. A thin ribbon was draped across them, pride evident in Svari's eyes.
"I made you this! Lydia taught me how! Do you like it?"
Chuckling to herself Yaminah braided her hair once again, tying it with the ribbon as she had done since that day. She now wondered what Svari was doing, back in Skyrim. Was she mourning Yaminah, or did she not even know she was missing?
Shaking her arms out to try to rid herself of the memory Yaminah let her gaze land on the cloak that lay across a chair.
"How did I get roped into this?" She wondered aloud, placing the fabric around her shoulders.
Still, she supposed it wouldn't be too horrible. Sure, she wasn't able to see the ones she cared about, but at least she wasn't kidnapped by some psychopath who wanted to perform experiments or try to take the power of her Thu'um. Instead, she was stuck with a whole group of psychopaths that wanted her to become a part of their criminal organization.
Muttering a few choice words the Dovahkiin opened the door to her room, surprised that they didn't have someone watching her.
Then again, they could probably sense her, or they had some sort of jutsu set up as security.
At this time, she probably wouldn't be able to fight any of them off.
The eye that been wounded in the fight against Alduin was a milky white, and blind. A scar ran the length of where the wound had been, initially startling Yaminah. It took a while for her to figure out that while the dragon inside of her healed every wound to the point of no scar, the wounds inflicted by the beast would never truly heal.
"Who the fuck are you?" Yaminah whirled around at the voice, shocked that she hadn't heard or sensed the person approaching.
The man before her was covered in blood, only a few pieces of the medium-length silver hair shining through. The cloak he wore matched Yaminah, save the cuts in the fabric at random places. Practically glowing violet eyes narrowed as Yaminah stumbled for a response, crinkling her nose at the putrid scent of blood.
"M-My name is Yaminah." She stuttered, cursing her own anxiety. Her golden eye stayed trained on the three-bladed scythe over the man's shoulder.
His eyes landed on her scar and he scoffed, waving his hand in front of her on that side. "Oi, Kakuzu, why is this half-blind bitch here?" He called over his shoulder while Yaminah suppressed a growl. She would kill him if they were forced to be on a team together.
