third person pov.

Dr Ledger watched as they put the sheet over Mrs Cooper. She had been confirmed dead, cause of death being the awful experiments that were being tested at M.O.N.S.T.E.R labs.

They wanted to see what would happen and what the effects were if they injected this virus into a human and at this point, Dr Ledger thought they would be done with this experiment now but no. They had to get two more subjects in and of course, because this subjects body was too small to handle the virus, it killed her.

When the small woman had been covered, Dr Ledger walked over to her body.

"You guys go home. I'll deal with her from now on." She said sternly.

"You know what you're doing. See you tomorrow Jen." Dr Kasica said, before him and the other doctors left the room.

Jen just sighed and stared at the covered body. She sighed one last time before she went to roll Korey into the morgue.

She went to grab the handle but she got a fright instead.

Korey opened her blue eyes to notice that she had been covered with a plastic sheet. She instantly knew what was going on. Why would they put a sheet on her if they knew she was alive? They thought she was dead.

Without realizing, she threw the sheet off and ripped the IVs off her arm, before hearing a scream.

She looked up and saw that the female doctor was still in the room with her arms up in defense and fear.

Korey got up from the bed and backed up. She was scared, she was worried that if this doctor now knew that she was still alive, that she'd try do more of the horrible experiments on her.

Korey thought fast and grabbed a scalpel from the tray that was next to her bed and threatened Dr Ledger with the sharp tool. Dr Ledger couldn't do anything to her if she attacked first.

Jen backed up as the small patient got closer and closer to her, until she had finally hit her back on the wall.

She was pinned. She thought that this was her fate. She knew working at this job would be trouble and now, it would be the reason for her death.

But surprisingly, Korey didn't attack. She just kept the scalpel up.

"A-Aren't you going to kill me?" Jen stuttered, getting ready for Korey's possible attack.

Korey just scoffed and put her arms down.

"I'm not going anywhere near you with this unless you attack me first to do more experiments." She said, moving away from Jen.

Jen moved away and wiped her forehead.

"Trust me not to do anymore experiments. I'm so sick of this working in this god awful place. I want this lab to be exposed for all the awful things they do here. They have killed people because of these tests. They almost killed you for christs sake! Imagine if they got busted for the murders of random innocent people they took in just for experiments? I know I can't say anything though because they would kill me off." Jen said, sitting on the edge of the hospital bed and sighing.

Korey bit her lip and placed the scalpel back down.

"I know they kill people here. They killed my ex husband John and then my ex girlfriend Cristina before deciding to take me." She said quietly, looking at the floor before looking up at Jen.

"Wait, John Cooper and Cristina Scabbia?" Jen said, looking up at Korey.

Korey just nodded.

"They were your partners and they took them both!? I'm so sorry, uh... Korene?" Jen said, biting her lip.

Korey just chuckled.

"It's fine and yes, it's Korene but please, do call me Korey Dr uh... Ledger?" She said, winking at Jen and clearly mocking her.

Jen just shook her head and couldn't help but smile.

"It's Jennifer but please... Do call me Jen." Jen said, winking at Korey.

Korey rolled her eyes, smirking and folded her arms.

"Will do Jen." She said.

They both sat there awkwardly, not saying anything after that. They didn't know what to say to each other.

Korey couldn't help but find Dr Ledger charming in a way. With all the shit she had gone through with this lab and then Dr Ledger is here and isn't just thirsty for her blood.

She had an idea, but whether Jen would want to do it with her is the real question.

She sat next to Jen and tapped her shoulder, making her look up at her.

"I've got an idea but only if you agree." Korey said, smirking at her.

Jen was intrigued but a little nervous.

"I like you a lot. I find you very charming... So, you want to escape from this hell? Well, I say we run." Korey said, smirking.

Jen swallowed hard. Just in this short time Korey had obviously caught feelings for her but she wasn't going to lie. Korey was an extremely attractive woman and clearly understanding.

But running away from M.O.N.S.T.E.R labs? Any other day of thinking running away, she wouldn't dare. She was worried about getting killed off but now that Korey was saying it, it seemed so intriguing...

"You mean..."

Jen didn't even get to finish her sentence before Korey cut her off.

"Yes, run away from this awful place together. Are you willing to do this Jennifer?" Korey said sternly.

Jen thought for a second and finally decided.

Jen stood up and grabbed Korey's hand, pulling her up.

"I have nothing else to lose so... Yes, let's do it Korene."

Korey smiled and leaned forwards.

"Then let's do it."

Korey then ran out the room.

It was like a high for Jen as they ran through the building. Luckily most of the workers had gone home so no one saw them run out of this hellhole of a building.

When they left the building, Jen locked the doors behind her and when she did that, she looked at it one last time before throwing them far away.

"How do you feel?" Korey asked, patting her shoulder.

"I feel... Amazing, no... I feel free." She said, smiling and looking at Korey.

She turned to Korey and grabbed her face, pulling her closer and latching her lips against hers.

Korey was shocked to the sudden impact of Jen's kiss but she just smirked and closed her eyes, kissing her back.

When they pulled away, Jen went bright red while Korey just smirked.

"U-Uh, I'm sorry..." Jen said, biting her lip.

"Don't fret. Let's get out of here." Korey said, grabbing Jen's hand.

And then they ran away together.
