~After School~

I went into home room where detention was being held. I sat at some random seat and my home room teacher was there.

"You students are going to sit there and be quiet!" he yelled.

No one said anything.

He left to go to the teachers lounge because he said he could be doing better things in there.

Once he left, everyone just started talking.

I got up, went to the board, got a expo marker, and just started doodling.

"Why are you drawing on the board?" I heard a voice from behind me ask.

I turned around and saw a girl a bit shorter than me with short, straight, red hair. She was wearing a purple tank top, and some jean shorts that came about three inches above her knees.

I turned back to the bored and answered- while still drawing- "I don't know. Detention's too boring."

"Can I draw with you?" she asked.

"Sure," I replied. She grabbed another expo marker and started drawing with me.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Juliette," I said. "You?"

"Ashley,"

"Cool,"

"You're actually the first person who draws on the bored. The people in here just usually talk with each other," she said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah,"

"So, you said usually; does that mean that you get detention often?"

"Yeah, but I'm trying to not get detention as often or they'll kick me out of this school and I really like this school,"

"It's a nice school,"

"Yeah," she said. We talked and drew for about five more minutes when we heard heavy footsteps.

Everyone shut up and Ashley and I quickly erased the board and ran to our seats.

Right when we sat down, the teacher came back in.

"I heard talking!" he boomed. No one said anything. We all just sat there, motionless.

He then left and came back later on to tell us that detention was over.

Ashley and I exchanged numbers and went our different ways.

When I got home, dad and Chandler were sitting on the couch with there legs crossed the way men do it.

Well, let us see what they have to say to me.

I have survived my first day of 6th grade! Pretty much everyone in my class likes our sixth grade teacher that our fifth grader one.

And even though it was the first day, it was VERY stressful.
