on the other side of the bank, changbin could see plenty of illuminated buildings as well as a few skyscrapers and several outbuildings visible on the horizon.

from the bench he was sitting on, the echo of the loud music banging on the buildings' walls was still audible in the distance. he didn't know where he was right now, but honestly it was the last of his worries.

he turned off his phone so his parents wouldn't be able to join him. changbin knew they weren't that worried when he didn't saw any texts from them, instead his mother had called him two times.

they were gullible enough to believe that he was going to come back this easily and this early. but changbin wasn't like that.

he wasn't the type to apology first, especially in this situation. his father wasn't ready to apologise either and changbin perfectly knew it.

the only thing currently on his mind was the place he was going to sleep in. he did bring some money – stolen from his mother's purse – but it wasn't enough to pay a hotel room.

yet, changbin wasn't regretting his decision, not even the least bit.

everyone was whether at home whether in the city-centre so it was a bit weird for changbin to be just sitting here, on his sad little wooden bench. this is why, when a stranger came by conveniently, the latter sat just alongside changbin, asking him what he was doing here in the middle of the night; he was a bit taken aback.

at first the stranger didn't say anything, probably because he wasn't courageous enough but when he saw how concentrated changbin was, he began to wonder what was on the smallest's mind.

"a penny for your thoughts?" he asked in english, in a deep voice which startled changbin because it didn't quite match his face.

"oh, i'm sorry i don't speak english that well-" he apologized, a glimmer of hope clear in his voice tone even thought it was a bit unlikely that the stranger could speak korean.

"it's okay, as long as i can try to understand you. sorry if it's a bit impolite but do you speak korean by any chance?" the red-haired stranger asked again, while pretty much scanning changbin's face.

"yes, i'm from korea! how did you know?"

"my parents are korean as well, so it wasn't too difficult for me to guess. your accent was pretty easy to identify"

"oh, i see. right, i didn't even answer your question" changbin continued, this time in korean. he wasn't sure whether or not he should speak about his life to a perfect stranger but he did it anyway because like he said earlier "there's no place for regrets" "i" he began to relate his story, making a short pause before starting again. "i actually ran away from home and now i have nowhere to go"

"oh shit. did something happen?" the stranger turned his head towards the latter while moving a bit closer to reassure him although a hint of worry was audible in his voice.

"nah, don't worry. i just had a fight with my parents and i was actually pretty mad because they're always putting all the blame on my back. it kind of sucks" finally confessed changbin while gnashing his teeth, just talking about his parents made him mad.

"felix" the stranger said, after a short silence, realizing he didn't even say his name.

"felix?" the latter asked, confused in the first place. "oh...oh-! i'm changbin"

"that's a nice name" felix marked a pause, not really sure of what he wasn't going to say next. "hey, it may sound a bit weird but since you have nowhere to go, would you like to spend new year's eve with me? i promise i'm not some weird perv or anything" he finally said while looking at his feet, apprehending changbin's reaction.
