I sat at the coffee shop hoping he would show. My leg was twitching up and down from jitters. I was so nervous that he would laugh at what I had to tell him. Finally he showed and gave me that dazzling smile. I tried to return it but I think my face gave away my nervousness. "We really should start meeting in new places." He joked as he reached my table. "Its nice to see you here so much but I'm a little bit tired of always having coffee." His voice made me relax and I sat back into my chair. "I'll keep that in mind next time we decide to meet up." I say softly. He nods. "You seem like somethings bothering you?" He says getting right to the point. I swallow, trying to prepare myself. "Well.. You see..." I try. He sits across from me patiently waiting until my nerves have settled enough to speak. "I've been having some strange dreams about you.." I spit out. His eyebrows raise at me questioningly. "Hmm... Not exactly the kinda dreams i want a pretty girl to have about me."
I smile despite myself. "Please do tell me what you've been dreaming about." He clasps his hands on the table. "Well in the dreams I've been having since I've met you are that your a wolf." His eyebrows go up more if possible. He sits there for a moment and then starts to laugh softly. I frowned. Not the reaction I was hoping for. He covers my hand with his. I look down at it. it's the first contact we've ever had. A jolt ran through me. I looked up into his gorgeous eyes. "I don't know why you would have dreams like that. I'm most definitely not a wolf. As you can see!" He gives another hearty laugh. I smile. "Well I can see that." He fixes his gaze on me. A handsome smile on his face. "There's no need to worry. i'll protect you." He moved his hand away.
My mind was reeling... He said those exact words in my dreams. He got up and left the table for a moment. I shook my head. Its just a coincidence. There was no connection between the dream and what he just said to me.. There couldn't be... I pulled out my phone. My fingers moved quickly over the keyboard. "Meet me at my apartment in like 30." i sent the message to Lily and put my phone back into my pocket before he turned back to me. I smiled. Even though what just happened made me even more nervous then before.
Lily was pacing in front of my door. "Damn girl! Your text hella scared me.. What took you so long??" She put a hand on her hip. "I met up with him again. I had to. I've been having some weird dreams about him.. and he said something to me that kinda freaked me out. I think we need to do some research." Her eyes lit up. "Oh! You know how much I love digging up dirt!" She clapped her hands together excitedly. I couldn't help but laugh. "Glad your willing to help me with this little project." She gives me a funny look. "Your my best friend. Of course I'll always be there to help you in any way I can."
I loved Lily. She was awesome. We talked some more about Titus. I told her everything I knew about him which come to think of it wasn't very much. He said he's from Wisconsin, 28, and his parents weren't around anymore. She wrote everything I said about him. She smiled. "What?" I asked, confused. Her smile got wider. "You just get this really dreamy look in your eyes is all." I blushed softly and waved her remark away. "No.. I don't even know anything about the guy.." "Except that he's super yummy!!" Lily gushed. She stayed for a little longer and then she said she'd hit me up when she got some info. "Let me know if you see him again. And if you learn anything new about him." I nodded and hugged her.
After she left i sat there and pondered how I would find more about Titus. I hadn't gotten any new ideas when I fell asleep. My dreams were filled with his amber eyes, Thick fur brushing against my palms and arms, and his words "I will protect you". I wasn't frightened for some reason. Also, I didn't understand that at the time my dreams were of the future. He held me close. Howls sounded from every direction. Fur brushed against us from every shadow. You couldn't see wat they were. Beast, wolf, large cat.. i didn't know. i wasn't sure i wanted to know. So I kept my eyes on him. "Don't be afraid." "I'm not." He smiled. "Good. That makes me very happy."
It pleased me that I made him smile. Even though I was confused. I didn't want to disappoint him. It felt right to be in his arms. So close i could feel his heart beat against mine. It was a perfect dream. I didnt want to wake up from it. But at the same time the furry bodies were crushing against our arms and legs. pressing and moving against us so we ended up parting. He was being pushed in to the darkness, His eyes the only thing glowing. I reached for him. It wasnt doing any good though. He just moved farther into the darkness. I was alone. Not even the beasts were near me now. There wasn't even howling now. One lone wolf stepped out of where Titus disappeared. His eyes were beautiful. My breath caught in my throat. Was that Titus? No.. That's impossible. My mind was just coming up with insane ideas. There was no possible way that he was a wolf. He was a man.
The wolf came up to me slowly. It seemed like it didn't wanna make me frightened. It was much larger then any wolf i had ever seen. Not that I've been around live wolves before. But i knew this wasn't a normal wolf. There was something to human about the way he moved. The way he looked at me. How he watched me. It was familiar to. And i couldn't place why or where this beast had seen me. This dream felt to real. I stared at the wolf. "what do you want from me..?" The wolf cocked its head to the side as if it understood what I was saying... When am I gonna wake up..? What did it want from me..? Where'd it come from..? And why had it choose to come into my dreams..?
