When I walked trough the door I noticed that there wasn't anyone in the store. Which is quite unusual, normally when my parents had the store open, it would never be this quiet. I took a look at the windows again. 'Yes, they're still repaired.' But the shattered glass is still everywhere I can look. I'm surprised that they didn't clean it up yet, but I guess they were waiting for me to do it. I really hope that this will be the last time that I have to obey to every word of my parents. I'll have to be gone soon, because I know that there is no going back from what my father has seen. And after all I know that I can't stay here forever.
Before picking up the glass I decided that it would be a great idea to grab the necessities that I would need to survive out there. Once I finished gathering my things and placing them in a bag, I walked down stair as quiet as I could. Hiding the bag close to the door, I started collecting all the glass in one spot to dispose of them easier.
I was just about to finish when I heard footsteps upstairs and they were closing in on their way down here. I knew that this would probably be one of the last times that I would be here. Time slowed down as I thought back to all the memories that I share with this building. Like learning how to read and write together with my family, them trying to protect me from the world, but now I know that all what they have ever done for me wasn't from the bottom of their heart. It was just so that they would maintain their perfect image.
I got snapped out of my journey down memory lane when I saw the beginnings of my mother's dress appear from the top of the stairs. I quickly turn around, ready to sprint out of the store and grab my bag on the way if needed.
It was completely silent apart from the noise that her heels made when they hit the wooden planks that make up our stairs. I tried to ignore it but with every step that she took I felt myself flinch away. I just stood there anxiously waiting for her to make her way down.
"Child, how dare you return after you attacked your own father?" she snapped as soon as she noticed me standing there.
"I didn't attack him, mother." I said quietly, trying to defend myself. But I know that there is no hope left as soon as I saw the expression of hatred on her face.
'Father has probably told her what had happened. I just know that he turned the blame all on me.'
She took a breath, probably so the other people of our town wouldn't hear how she was going to shout at me. She closed her eyes and continued the breath deeply, in through her nose and out of her mouth. Her shoulders were raised, as if trying to hold her back. Suddenly, she opened her eyes and glared at me. I could see a red aura radiating around her. Every word that she spoke was dripping with venom.
"You are such a disgrace to our perfect family. All was fine, until you showed up together with all the demons you brought. All the pain and difficulties you put us in. There is no going back from all that you have brought upon me and you father. Wait... no, you aren't our son! You are the abomination that was sent from hell to torment us." she yelled at me, bringing me even more to the conclusion that I was not wanted here any longer. 'Hell, if I even was welcome to begin with.'
"Did you ever love me? Even if it was just for a second. Please, you can't have just cared for me for the sake of a reputation. Right? Mother....please." I said trying to figure out the truth. "All those years that you took care of me can't have been just for show. I won't believe your lies." I looked her in the eyes and found the truth in them.
Right before my eyes I saw how they lied to me. How their hate was conceived for me. I saw the world rushing towards me and in a flash my surroundings were changed.
When the child was stil growing inside her, she could feel that something was off, so she went and visited the doctor. He found nothing to special about the child at first. But Josephine demanded that he looked further into it. And he did, but what he found wasn't the answer that she was looking. Turns out that her symptoms were that of something magical growing inside her. But it wasn't the good kind, it meant that her child would have magic inside them. First she was upset but then she thought about all the inconveniences that they have already brought. There was no point in being sad for something that is already doomed. All the pity that she had was gone and was replaced with greed and anger. Greed because she realized how she could manipulate the villagers even more and become of an higher status. Anger for how many problems this will give her.
Now laying in a bed was Josephine, who was cradling a bundel of blankets. It seems as if she was trying to protect whatever was laying in them. But in reality she wished she could show what her true feelings were for the child laying in her arms. But with all her might she kept up her image that she and her husband managed to build up throughout the years. As much as she wanted to glare at the thing that had grown in her, she couldn't. The people around her were so happy for the couple. This boy was the first one that had born successfully here in this village for a long while. She was happy a little too because this was going to be how they will reach wealth.
My vision went back to normal and it seemed like no time had passed. My mother was still looking at me the same way. I could see the hatred linger in her eyes even after all those years.
I saw her open up her mouth to respond to what I had just said, but before she could utter the word that lingered on her tongue, I interrupted her.
"I know that you have probably already planned to sent me out into the world on my own. But I just want to tell you something before I leave." I said. I breathed in and continued with tears in my eyes but not allowing them to fall.
"You are no longer my mother, you are someone I have lived with for all of my 19 years living but never really known, at least not the real you. And I do thank you for allowing me to grow up to the person that I am today. I won't forget you but I also will never forgive you. And I wish it were different but for now I say goodbye." Once I finished I turned around and calmly walked up to the place were I had placed my bag.
Picking it up, I looked back one last time. I saw her still standing at the same spot with an expression I cannot place. It looked like shock but still a lingering hate for me. She probably just realized that I was serious about leaving and that she would have no way of explaining it to the people of our town. I turned back and made my way out of town, to finally living my own life. No matter how hard this will be, I won't turn back. I'm confidant that I will make it on my own out there, with or without the help of others.

The second one of the auras is how they look like. It just kind of radiates off of anything. Btw the photos aren't mine unless I say so. Though the story and characters are all mine.
And thank y'all for getting me this far already.
