~4 years later~
The sharp shine of red was the first thing I became aware of. Apparently there was a small beam of light which had made it's way past my closed curtains. I took this as my sign to wake up further. I sat up and lifted my arm in the air with my palm facing away from me. Rushing came my jacket at me, which I caught while having my eyes closed and yawning.
After putting on the jacket I looked in the mirror and fixed my hair a little bit before making my way downstairs to aid to the fire. This has become a morning routine for me throughout the years. Now the only thing that I still need to do, is wait for Lyda to go to the market together and get what we need for today. She came down after a couple of minutes so I snapped on my bag and we left to go to the market. While walking back my mind began to wonder back to the day that I first stayed with Lyda and Cassius.

The smell of fire was the first thing I noticed when I openend my eyes. I had stayed the night on request of Sir Sparks. Apparently I had made some noise while awakening because before I knew it the door slowly creaked open to reveal Miss Sparks with a tray full of various of food. I quickly sat up to greet her.
"Good morning Jayson. Did you have a good rest?" she asked while setting down the tray on the dresser closest to the door.
I reached for the little booklet to answer back to her but came to the realization that I left it downstairs. So I just settled with a small wave at her. She smiled softly at me and waved back before reaching behind her to reveal the book that I was searching for.
"You forgot this yesterday. I found it in the blanket on the chair." she stated as she held it out for me to take back.
Avoiding her eyes, I gently grabbed it out of her hands. Cradling it in my hands, I slowly looked back up to see her walking back to the tray. She sat down next to me with it now on her lap and transferred it to mine.
After a while of just hearing me eating as silent as possible, she broke the silence between us. She asked me if I wanted to join her on her way to collect some materials for Sir Sparks. I thought about it for some time before nodding my head. She smiled at me, happy with my answer.
"When we are there I'll get you some new clothing too, because of... wel you know." she said with motioning at the state of the clothing I was wearing still.

My trip down memory lane was interrupted by Lyda approaching me. She was all ready for our daily journey to the market. Just like any other day, the market was quite busy. I even saw some new faces around. But I also saw some of the regular costumers from the workshop. I had never really spoken to any of them, but I know them all by names because of the commissions we do for them.
We got the usual things that we get every morning, so we go back home. But before we can get far we are stopped in a not so nice manner. A little further up in the alleyway I saw a lady being pressed against the wall with a knife pointed at her stomach by a group of 4 men, who were closing in on her.
I turned to Lyda and dragged her back to the beginning of the alleyway so she would be safe and out of sight. Turning around back to the situation at hand, I quickly pulled out a small sword out from behind my back. Quietly I walked at them, trying to get the attention of only the lady so she would know what is about to happen. For the first time in a long time I actually spoke out loud again, but it was worth it. The what seems to be the leader turned around first with a look mixed with anger and surprise. He probably thought that no one would step in.
In a few seconds I recognized him as one of the biggest troublemakers of Stirling. I dropped down a few inches as to avoid his blade. The lady, seeing her change of freedom ran away luckily for her they had transferred their entire attention on me now. I fought against the idea of just stabbing them and be done with it but that would only bring more trouble then I wished for. Getting up from my crouched position, I swing my sword up to strike his, creating a horrid sound. He, not expecting it, took a couple of steps back to regain himself.
I blinked and looked at his aura, revealing it was a sickly yellow, which almost hurt my eyes to look at. This man was absolutely scared out of his mind. Who knew that the troublemakers could be so frightened just by getting caught in the act and having someone act against them. But non the less I managed to fight him of enough because before I could get another hit in he lost his stance and ducked into another alleyway close by.
I was about to follow after him but I remembered that Lyda was still standing around the corner. So with a last glance back at the way he vanished to, I walked back too her. Picking up the dropped book, I went and stood next to her and motioned that it was save for us to go on our way. I hope that I can say that this was the last time I saw them. But with my luck.. it won't be the last time
