The Truth Hurts

Lauren's Pov

Flashback 4 Months Ago:

Everything was perfect in my life. And then in the blink of an eye, it was gone. I had been in love with a guy named Austin in my class for years. We have been dating now for two weeks. Tonight Austin and I were celebrating our two week anniversary. Austin had planned a surprise dinner date on the beach for us.

"Happy two weeks baby!" Austin smiled at me while pulling my chair out for me. We were at a table with candles, and rose petals were spread all around. "Thank you Austin. You really went all out! But you didn't have to do all of this!" I replied. "Of course I did! Because I love you. Now eat your pasta, it'll be cold soon!" Austin smirked.

Austin and I ate our meal which consisted of salad, pasta, and bread sticks. Then we sat and talked for awhile about our relationship, and our futures. I could tell Austin was nervous about something.

"Austin what's wrong?" I asked politely. "Umm well I have another surprise for you!" he replied, while grabbing my hand and walking me down the beach.

We got to a gazebo, lit with candles and more roses. I could hear the faint melody of John Legend's "All Of Me" being played accompanied by a quartet of stringed instruments. "Can I have this dance?" Austin bowed. "Yes if course!" I said excitedly. I was shocked. How could I have such a gentleman for a boyfriend? Do I really deserve this? I asked myself as we swayed to the music.

Now it was sunset. "This is such a beautiful night with my beautiful girl." Austin remarked. I blushed. Austin then carefully pulled my chin up, so we were facing each other, then passionately kissed me.

I didn't want the night to be over. It was now almost midnight. "Thank you for tonight Austin. This has really been special." I smiled. "I'd do anything for you!" Austin replied, taking my hand and intertwining our fingers together.

That was one if the best nights of my life. austin drove me home. he came in and we watched tv for awhile. My parents weren't home. "I love you." I said looking up at Austin. "I love you too!" he replied by kissing me again.

I kissed back more strongly, and this turned out into in all out makeout session.

Austin picked me up, and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He carried me to my room, locking the door. We continued to passionately kiss as Austin stripped me down, never breaking the kiss. I did the same to him, stopping to admire his toned, hard abs.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" asked Austin. "Yes!" I yelled.

It had been two days now since Austin and I had sex, and I will be haunted by this day forever. It seemed like Austin had been avoiding me at school all day. So after work, I stopped at his house to talk quick. When I walked down the block, I noticed an unfamiliar car parked on his driveway. I thought nothing of it at the time, going up to the door and walking straight inside.

I never should've done that. I could hear noises in the living room. I turned the corner and there in my boyfriend's living room was my ex best friend Madison on top of Austin.

Tears welled up in my eyes. I started to bite my lips to keep from crying right there. I balled up my fists.

"Lauren it's not what it looks like. Please let me explain!" Austin pleaded while chasing after me to the front door. "No. I can't believe I trusted you! you said you loved me, well obviously you don't!" I screamed walking out. "And really cheating on me with Madison when you know we have a bad past, what the fuck! And we just had sex! I'm sorry I gave my virginity to you! Go back inside and fuck Maddie again. I hate you, don't talk to me again." I yelled.

By then Madison was behind Austin smirking her bitchy grin at me. "Fuck you slut!" I yelled at her, running back and slapping her in the face very hard.

And with that I walked away with my dignity in hand. I was betrayed by my first love with my ex best friend. And I am haunted by this every day. it's worse having to go to school, and seeing both Austin and Madison in the hallways. Madison has always hated me, and she knew I was dating Austin. She wanted to make my life a living hell, and she got it.

I am constantly awoken by this dream every morning at 2am. This has happened the past 4 months now. I always have to calm myself down, and keep from crying because this isn't just a dream. It's reality, my life, showcasing my heartbreak every single day.

Nobody knows about this part of my past except for Austin, Madison, myself, and my best friend Marianna. this has scarred me from ever having hope in finding love again. I've always believed in true love, but now not so much. My heart has turned stone cold, and I'm not the same girl anymore. I don't think anything, or anyone can change what I've gone through.

Lauren woke up at six am with dried tears on her face. Of course! So She got up and quickly showered, did her usual makep and hair, and changed. Lauren stumbled down the stairs to get some breakfast, the smell of bacon frying wafted through the house.

"Good morning honey!" Her Mom said. "Morning, I have something to tell you," Lauren replied, while taking small bites off of her plate. "Sure, go ahead." her Mom calmly waited. "So there was a contest that I entered, you can win a free trip to California to meet Cameron Dallas! You know the YouTube and Viner I always talk about! Well I entered, and won. Look here's the email, I leave on Tuesday!" Lauren quickly thrust her phone in her Mom's face.

After about 20 minutes of explaining to her Mom, and calling her Dad, Lauren was finally given permission to go to Cali.

She would leave Tuesday morning, and get picked up at the LAX Airport, with a car waiting for her. Lauren would then be driven to Cameron's house!

Lauren sat there dazed. She couldn't believe her parents had actually agreed to this! she was so happy!

Lauren basically jogged to school, waiting outside to talk to Marianna. This was going to be the best trip ever!

After five minutes, Marianna came running up to her, out of breath. "So what happened?!" Marianna asked exasperatedly. "Well.. You're never going to believe this, my parents said yes! We've got this weekend to go shopping, and plan everything!" Lauren screamed. "Yass! I'm so happy for you!!" Marianna yelled, tears were streaming down her face. "you're literally crying over this?" Lauren questioned. "Yes, I'm happy for you, you deserve this so much!" Marianna smiled. Both girls laughed. Lauren hugged Marianna, as they walked to their lockers together.
